Since many users were having issues with the uxa acceleration option, It was not included in the final release. While my system was running fairly well with the default options, enabling uxa has made a noticeable improvement for me without any of the issues so far. Has anyone else enabled uxa or, for that matter, added anything else to xorg.conf to improve performance, and what were the results?

    Dear Steve161 ,
Hi , after significant freezing and stability issues on my use of Jaunty on a Intel Celeron with integrated video graphics card I865 I followed http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1130582 and am presently on the 'Bleeding Edge' set up for very satisfactory running . Hope this helps ,
    Derek

    Hi dhopley:

I followed the same instructions but chose the optimal method. While my jaunty was running fairly well in its default setup, I did notice an improvement with compiz running.
