Can I Backup, Restore, & Backup Again? [File Integrity Question]

I just restored my first TIB of my operating system using the Rescue Cd. It seems to work 100% fine! I was just wondering now that I have my operating system working fine can I make a backup of it again? Or do you begin to lose file integrity/risk possible corruption when you consistently backup, restore, backup, restore, the same partition/drives?

I don't plan on backing up and restoring everyday. But one would assume that after something such as an operating system is backed up consistently, that there would begin to be some sort of file integrity loss. I may be incorrect... I think someone from HP told me before that you need to copy files over 1000 times for it to begin to lose integrity. I don't know I could be wrong...

 

You can do it again. However, if your last backup is still current, I wouldn't bother making another one this soon (unless you're going to create Incrementals or Differentials).

 

I really wouldn't worry about file integrity in the sense you are using it here. These are not analog tapes, and there is no loss of data or increase of noise during copying. The copy is as good as the original, if there was no errors in the process.
