This is a potential real-time setup for a new system and id like feedback on what u think. it is a laptop btw.

    Windows 7 x64

    Real-Time
    - Prevx 3.0
    - Outpost Firewall Pro
    - Rollback rx

how does it sound. to me it seems like it wuld be a pretty light combo and good since this is gunna be a mobile computer connecting to potentially unknown networks. i was thinking of adding GesWall as well but im undecided

If your going to connect to other networks, I would highy recommend an AV. If not then this setup IMO is rock solid.

That's the beauty of Prevx...you can use it alongside an AV. I'm just saying if you are connecting to unknown networks then I would use an AV to compliment Prevx.

I had several issue with Outpost on Windows 7 x64.
    1. The whole system was slowed down, especially browsing through files and folders with Windows Explorer.
    2. The HIPS gave me wrong warnings
    3. The HIPS wasn't very at blocking leaktest (on Vista 64 it was much better)

You don't experience any of these?

Guys, just recently bought a Vista 64 bit machine. So, I was wanting to get some suggestions from everyone on a good security set up.

Here is what I have on the computer right now.

    PAID:
KIS 2009 (had problem with KIS 2010 on my XP and haven't got up enough nerve to try it on the Vista yet)
    Prevx 3.0
SuperAntiSpyware (have paid version but running it on demand)

    FREE:
    Malwarebytes on demand
    Secunia PSI on demand
    A2squared on demand.

I had SandboxIE on my XP but since it doesn't work on 64 bit, was out of luck.

I'm looking for an imaging program as I have been told on here that is one thing for sure I'm lacking. So, any suggestions on what would work best with Vista 64 bit would be appreciated.

Also, as always, any suggestions on the security programs I have would be greatly appreciated. I'm learning but still very green on all this so bare with me.

    Thanks.

Hitman Pro 3.5 is a new on-demand scanner product that was released last June. It combines 7 antivirus products (through cloud computing) and a scan is always free and only takes a few minutes. There is also an x64 version. You can read more here.

Good Evening! Currently using G-DATA INTERNET SECURITY SUITE 2010 AND PREVX 3.0 AS MY MAIN REAL TIME DETECTION APPS. AND S.A.S.PRO AS AN ON DEMAND SCANNER. Just installed G-DATA and so far no problems it runs light and nimble and integrates with Prevx and S.A.S. Sincerely....Securon

    I am currently using
Avira Internet Security with Firewall disabled
    Windows 7 Firewall

What should I add alongside this setup in realtime?

I have hitman Pro on demand which is not purchased or activated.
Do I use this as a form of early detection as in I run this scan and then use more indepth scanners such as MBAM, Avira fullscan to remove the virus/malware. So basically is hitman Pro used as an early detection method?

Some people might add something like sandboxie to their setup, for example, when browsing to unknown sites. But then again, some like the convenience of browsing without having browsers sandboxed, and use more common sense with downloads (for example, uploading downloads to virustotal.com - which I still do - just for a second opinion).

I don't see a problem in running Hitman Pro each week. Not sure if you have the bootupscan checked, but that might be convenient if you reboot every few days. You could run it after you download several files, and these will be uploaded/checked. Also can be run after any new installations.

Then again, some prefer to go through their running processes manually, you could use something like the free program I'm quite keen on, HiJackFree to go through your running programs (have the option at removing unknown programs, startup programs, or those making outbound connections, or uninstalling any services not needed).

All depends on you. Depending on your browsing, say if you don't make a habit of just downloading any file you come across, you're perfectly fine with Avira only. It's an excellent program. You will be tempted to download many more programs, but ask yourself how often you run into a problem, and assess it from there. :)

Added MalwareDefender back on, at least untill DefenseWall v3 is released with the firewall. At that time I will see how it go's.

Trusting my security in the hands of vulnerability fixing/immunization and primarily policy-based type of protection.

Is hitman Pro free? like the scans after the 30 day trial? is only malware removal paid?
