I'm wondering if the method of handling automation of backup file management (everything done through Consolidation) is going to continue in the next version of ATI Home after version 12/2009 :( or if ATI will be going back to the method used in ATI 10 and 11 :) or use yet a third method :cautious: ?

I hope that Acronis will realise where they have gone wrong with Version 2009. Management of backup archives has been made far more difficult than all previous Versions and unless the user is prepared to use Batch files to manage backups or to employ other complicated Kludges automated mangement is no longer an option.

Please bring back the simple FIFO method of automatic archive management. This was possible when using a secure zone in all the older TI Versions. Not only should this function be restored but it should also be made available to all other backup locations as a simple and effective optional method.

I have stayed with Version 10 because it provides completely automatic backup creation and automatic FIFO management of full backup images.
Unless these basic functions are re-instated in future Versions I can see no point in staying with the overladen and slowly sinking Acronis backup ship.

    Thanks, Oleg,

Suggestions might help with the version after next but ATI13/2010 has already gone to beta and the die is no doubt already cast for that version. I was jsut wondering how the die was cast in the upcoming version. I don't want to know all about the yet to be announced features, just this one thing, which will determine if ATI remains on the Black List or moves back to the Recommended List of software we install.

Shieber, You are so right in your comment.
It was the best part of a year ago when Version 2009 was first released to the public. At that time many complaints were made about the way that automation of backups had been efectively destroyed and the automatic naming of backups with time and date stamps had been removed.

These complainrts were met with the same platitudinous answer from Acronis that has just been given yet again.
What is needed is action, not weasle words which appear to promise something but actually provide nothing at all.
Surely the next version either has these features restored or they have been left out till the next but one version, it would be nice to know either way.
