Comodo Internet Security - when installed with AV enabled - now includes the 'Comodo BOClean Anti-Malware' technology and databases.
The 'Defense+' part of CIS also acts to protect against *all* forms of Malware.
The line between 'viruses' and 'spyware' are so blurred now that the distinction is no longer very relevant and the terms less meaningful.
    There is basically 'Malware'.

There has been some reports that the CIS3.10 contains ad-ware because of the software is trying to install COMODO SafeSurf Toolbar, is trying to change your default homepage and search engine. However you can unchecked this at installation. The opt-out is hard to spot because they WANT you to miss it. Recommendation, do NOT miss it, opt-out of the tool bar for sure! I also notice when you uninstall the software package it opens the browser and you have to explain why to Comodo why you removed it.

I am still out with the AV is it really doing anything I know it caused me some FPS issues and restoring the missing files cause me to do a disaster recovery one system.

The adware issue has been discussed until everyone got blue in the face, flew into rages, and so forth...it was entertaining, trust me, do a search. It's opt-out, that's what matters, and yeah, some are going to miss it, but, what do you do? If they don't read what they're installing, they kind of ask for it. As far as it opening a browser and taking you to ANY page, whether to make you ask a question or to a "thank you" page, I've always HATED that practice, and MANY very trusted programs do that. To me doing that is malware activity, but that's my opinion.....err, went way off topic there. In any case, yes, most everyone here at Wilders already knows about that toolbar.

As far as the AV, so far very few are ready to use it as their primary AV, it just doesn't seem to be ready yet.

Well I hope one day it would be ready. Quick question about the Spam program they have is that ready? I know they have a lot of free stuff.

The question is about whether the AV has spyware protection, so do remain on topic.

Yes the AV does have spyware protection.

Funny, even though someone asks if CIS is an antimalware. People start to bash Comodo about having "malware" and it's FP.
It makes me wonder were the loyalty, the intention and the impartiality of the Wilders owners and moderators is...

I don't understand all the Comodo hate. The product is free, full featured, and light as a feather. Yeah, it's new, and still need to improve in some areas. I don't understand all the haters.

IMO when people bring up legit issues about Comodo, some automatically call it hate when it is not.

We'll see how the AV is in 4.0 - it still has too many false positives now and just ok detection, but 4.0 should bring the major changes.

It really takes the cake when Comodo fanboys, of all people, complain about the quality of moderation at other forums. If you can't handle real opinions from the real world, may I suggest you just stick to your precious, tightly locked-down, "troll-free" Comodo forums.

Just asked as AV and Spam goes together, CIS it should have that feature like it has malware with AV.

Well, I've never used any software firewall (except the windows built-in) but I actually know that Comodo is one of the best -if not the best- apps available in this field. Good work Comodo guys :thumb:

Just imagine their AV part being at the same level of performance as the firewall. I do hope they keep improving in that department :)

Watch Comodo AV be one of the best in 2-3 months.. :) (Yes, Just DETECTION).

The Daisy AI is very powerful, And starting tomorrow, All FP's have been fixed with her and it will create many generic/family signatures. Then the race is on to the top AV spots...

    Cheers,
    Josh

    Thanks Josh.
I'm sure your enthusiasm is both genuine and well appreciated by the one your contributions most resemble.

I have no desire for satisfied CIS users to jump ship.
For me though, the software Comodo,
like its Indonesian reptile (almost) namesake,
    remains a fascinating creature.
But I still don't want one living in my house!

    cheers mate!

No information yet. Daisy isn't public, This is a new "Artificial Intelligence" Infrastructure that is in the AV Labs. The things you mention in bold will be worked on in these months.

With Daisy (She doesn't like being called AI for women reasons) She will create many generic/family signatures... And with this, The Comodo Database is going to be reduced, And this will be a CONSISTENT effort, Reducing the size base all the time. Comodo is aiming to get the Comodo database under 25MB, Which means: LESS RAM WHEN CIS IS UPDATING! :) While maintaining TOP detection. Also reducing FP's with this progress. Btw... Currently the database is bloody massive, It's 100MB. So Clean up will Start now...

All the pieces will fit together in the coming months.

    Sure. It's your opinion! :)

    Cheers,
    Josh

Comodo has one month to the deadline of its "best antivirus in one year" promise, btw. Right now it's not even anywhere close yet.

October 23rd CIS was released. It's about 3 months mate. Btw... How do you know it's not even close yet Eice?

Let's stop these kinds of tricks and bluffs. I expect you'd know better than I do how terribad the AV component is, so let's stop confusing the ones who do rely on you as a source of information.

I asked you a simple question. I'm not confusing anyone, your the one confusing Eice. ;)

I simply asked you... Where are your facts/evidence? Obviously if you can't provide that to back up your statement How the AV is "Right now it's not even anywhere close yet" And twisting my words and trying to cover up by saying "I expect you'd know better than I do how terrible the AV component is" - Then people will realize your the one confusing them mate. ;)

    Cheers,
    Josh
