    Just going to install the new build of ATI, but not without the bootable ISO. The download link in my Registered Products for the Bootable media is broken.

    Has the bootable been released yet?

    It should imagine it will be 'TrueImage9796_multiparam_Standard_english_il' or something along those lines.

    Plus, the chat feature seems to have disappeared from the Acronis site. Or am I just not looking right?

    Thanks.

    mranybody -

    I assume that you are referring to the ISO that is available on the registered products page. For the US the file is available (I just downloaded it). The file name is 'TrueImage2009_s_en.iso'.

    This file does not include safe mode if that's important to you. Since you indicate that you will be installing True Image do you realize that you can create an ISO file from within the application? If the safe mode add-on is installed in True Image first it will then be included in the created ISO file.

    At first it wasn't clear to me why Acronis made the file available. I now understand that if a person has installed the program and has not created the bootable Rescue Media CD and tested it or saved the ISO file somewhere, in a worst case they can get it from the web site provided they have registered the product. Other than that this file does not provide any added value that I can see. This is not correct.

    Looking into this a little closer I feel that I must correct the above statement. Booting to a CD created from this ISO I see that several startup parameters have been added. These might be helpful to some folks.

    Hello Bruce Mahnke,

    Thank you for using Acronis True Image

    Acronis Bootable Rescue Media created using the ISO file available under your account differs from the standard one created by means of Acronis Media Builder. It is based on ISOLINUX loader and many necessary drivers are added. We update the ISO file very frequently, about once per two weeks.

    One may need to create a bootable rescue CD using a special ISO image in the following cases:

    - Acronis Loader cannot be started;
    - Acronis Loader cannot start the Linux kernel;
    - Hardware is not recognized, and an updated ISO with newer is needed;
    - The Linux kernel must be loaded in a special mode;
    - The bootable CD should boot directly into the program passing through the selection menu.

    Thank you.

    Thank you for writing Oleg,

    I now have a better understanding of this file and its purpose. Not being familiar ISOLINUX I guess I have some reading to do.

    Thanks again,
    Bruce
