    Hi all,

    Running Vista 64 for a little while now and tried different security setups. I have a lifetime license for OSS and for MBAM, but they both don't seem to run fluently on my machine. I used to be a NOD32-user before, but I didn't renew my license (too much resources-use with the latest versions).
    Now running latest Comodo firewall with Defence+ with Avira free.
    I was wondering: would it be good to upgrade to the premium version of Avira?
    Or would the free version be enough with Comodo defence+?

    Hi Makios,

    I'm running Avira free with Comodo defense+ at the moment on Windows 7. I think it is really safe enough. If you want to know whether to upgrade to premium, check the comparison chart of the free and premium versions,and see if you want the additional features.

    bonedriven, thanks for your reply.

    I decided to give OSS a chance on my clean install, and it seems to run better now. Will try it with Winpatrol plus now. If it stops running fine, I will install Comodo with Avira free again (think I don't need premium, because of defense+)

    Okay, tried it, but OSS still didn't function flawlessly on my machine. So I bought a one year license of Avira Antivir Premium and running it now, with Comodo (firewall + D+) and Winpatrol Plus.
    Maybe next year OSS will be improved on vista x64. Than I'll decide to try again or renew my Avira-license.

    Grtz, Makios

    I currently have x64 Ultimate and am running Comodo with Avira Premium for the time being. It seems to be holding up better than it was last night. I also use MBAM and everything is running fine here. I dont have Defense + on right now though. You can get a 6 month free trial of Premium from Avira. If you need a link let me know.

    Hi;

    I'm new in wilderssecurity and I happen to see the posts on the use of Avira Premium with Comodo Internet Security. I too am thinking about the same thing , if I am safe with just Avira Free and CIS 3.9..The performance of Avira Free and CIS is okay but I do get occassional spyware which CIS doesn't intercept. I use MBAM to scan my system everytime I finished surfing the web. Avira Premium has WebGuard and I always liked to try it out. I believe it will complement CIS on this regard. I didn't know that we can get a 6 month trial evaluation for Avira Premium? I was thinking of trying out Avira 9 but it's only 30days at the Avira website. Can you spare me with the link for the 6 month trial?

    Thanks.

    Hi;

    Oh..thanks for the tip. Anyway, I'll just try the 30 day trial they offer at the website. By the way speaking of Comodo, I have heard some news that they have problems now. Can you comment on this.

    I'm posting the links I have garnered for you perusal.
