I prefer Win mobile mainly because it's the one my cellphone uses. I feel quite comfortable with it. There are tons of apps out there for it.
Also, I believe that being a MS OS, it comunicates better with my laptop's OS, but I can't back up that claim, since I have no experience with other OS's.

I'm willing to try Symbian in the future, maybe my next phone will run under that OS.

I would also try Android, just to see what it's all about.

    I hate IPhone :p

I just finished reading that Opera is used on a lot of phones also and is being incorporated more all the time.

I mean overall. Just as windows with its business users grabbed the home user market , mobile os will begin its march from home user.

Nice concept but in my honest opinion too small, a laptop would prove more useful. I had internet access from my portable handset a few years nows but the buzz finally ran dry for me. Oh it was ok to transfer to the net, my pc, and email with it which i can still do, but theres just not the componantry like a laptop which by the way you can tether your handset to it for internet or go WiFi and the like.

In my biased developer opinion, Win Family is best since I work on it.

Android seems interesting, but not much documentation available to give a good statement. Same with Palm WebOS.

Any platform that allows app multitasking and good docs/dev support, is the best in my book.

Hard to say, depends what features each user is interested in...so it's a different answer for many people.

Plus...in a few months we'll be seeing a whole new generation, which we're starting to already...but still waiting for Palm and Blackberry.

For me it's a close tie between Windows and Blackberry, and marrying with MS Exchange Server for myself and for my clients. Since e-mail and texting are what's important to me..so it's really more about having a usable keyboard (qwerty). Real qwerty....so far I've developed a dislike for that iPhone/Storm touchkey screen.
Moto Q and Blackberry Curve are my choices.

I have zero interest in audio, movies, web surfing, camera, wireless.

IPhone OS is the most versatile and has the most potential IMO.

I am using a BlackBerry as it fits my needs best at the moment. Lots of business productivity apps are available to help with calendar, project management, etc. It is not so good with web browsing but then again the screen is so small there are only a few sites I look at regularly.

Palm's new WebOS is very nice and has tremendous potential IMO but there are very few business type apps available now.

    Wow, thread resurrection!! :D

Symbian is in a downfall now.
They should've pushed harder when they were on top. :)

Blackberry OS is very sluggish IMO, for such expensive phones they are a total RIPOFF (Not to say some stronger words)

Also, for their prices the hardware of blackberries are very very slow.

All my observations are based on more than 50 friends (Yeah, Blackberry is like the current trend where i live) :D

BTW, it's just all personal opinion so don't take it personal ;)

When it comes to cellphones i'm a symbian man. I've been using nokia phones for the last decade and i'm quite content. I always hear people talking about how outdated it is, or how clunky it is yet i find it does everything i need and it does the job well.

I briefly had an HTC wildfire a few months ago and didn't find android appealing at all. It ended up annoying me too much so i sold it and went back to nokia.

I also have an ipad and i do find iOS to very fun to use. Everything flows nicely and the experience is great overall. I just don't like how strict apple has made things.

One thing i am patiently waiting for is Meego, it'll be interesting to see how it performs and how nokia adapts it to its phones.

It's probably time for a new poll on this issue as this poll is kinda outdated.
