Good that is fixed and not good that the bug was there to start with.

    Also begs the question:

Which AVs have good/best unpacking detection?

every bit of software has bugs, especially when new!problem is most vendors never acknowledge them even after a fix is available!

I hope with the new release Kaspersky jumps back in the drivers seat as far as top tiered AVs. In the good ole days your virus scanner was on a floppy disk and it took forever on your SX 386 ;)

Its never really vacated the drivers seat for overall protection, its just that nowadays there are a few just behind driving from the back seat!

As long as it keeps my machines clean I'm very happy. I don't mind if "people" or "magazines" think Kaspersky is the best or not

"in the good ole days your virus scanner was on a floppy disk and it took forever on your SX 386"

Ah yes! the good ole days when microsoft provided MSAV free! on the dos install disks, mcafee was king and norton took over central point anti virus

the lightest kaspersky for windows from memory was the classic version 3.5.133 from the swiss site, about 2mb and blindingly fast.

when i started using kaspersky i think it was at version 1.5 or 1.6 with the old dark grey dos gui.

    now... back to the future

Things have moved on so much since those days with malware increasing at an alarming rate so much so that the products have had to develop further to keep pace.

It seems that they fixed a bug in their software .They did not tighten they fixed something that was broken.Should we give them a prize for correcting a bug ?!:argh:
