Why do you do that?? Is not a good policy. If you forget to "update" the AV and execute some suspicious file, the infection has a open "go!".
I never forget to update my security apps and i need manual mode because i like to do update then i want not auto while i play or something
I understand your point. I far as i know, there is no "switch" to do that. You can disable the notification to get a silence update, in the (F5) => "user interface".
Disabling the automatic update task is Scheduler should do the trick, however, we strongly recommend that you leave automatic updates enabled unless you plan to update ESS manually every hour.
