I hope that was a typo and was meant 3.9 ? If not it's definitely time to upgrade mate ;)

Why is that? I'm using CPF 3.5 with the other security programs in my sig and everything is running fine. I rather not use Comodo's AV at the moment. Is there a change log from 3.5 to 3.9 where I can judge for myself of any improvements?

If my memory serves me right (always doubtful) the changes to the firewall component of CIS between 3.5 and 3.9 were mostly related to improved Vista compatibility and a number of configuration tweaks.

    Hi,

many bugs were fixed but also many protecting features were added. Updating to 3.9 is really advised ! You're not obliged to install the av also, simply uncheck the AV box while installing and you will get your good old CFP again (but then the newest version)

    The advisories are non-crititcal.

From the link on the Secunia page:
    "Not Critical (1 of 5)
Typically used for very limited privilege escalation vulnerabilities and locally exploitable Denial of Service vulnerabilities.

This rating is also used for non-sensitive system information disclosure vulnerabilities (e.g. remote disclosure of installation path of applications).

Ok, it is not critical however there is. IMO the important is to know. ;)

    It is true :D
I have posted the vulnerability to give some info in more and help you to decide.

I used Comodo Firewall 2.4 with satisfaction and as you I have never had problems however to feel me surer I had added a HIPS.

For the security I think it is better to have a system always updated, particularly the software of security.

    Regards.

Yes CMF is now integrated into CIS as is the former standalone anti-trojan BOClean.

    Hi Guys

Sorry I haven't read the entire thread, But latest version (3.9) is necessary. There are many threats in the wild now that can easily bypass v2.4. For security purposes, and considering last v2.4 was released 2 and a half years ago, I highly suggest an upgrade.

v4.0 is even in the works, at least partial work has started. That version is aimed at end of the year or beginning of next year.

    Cheers,
    Josh
