I tried to download the "VideoInspector" installation file from:

    http://www.kcsoftwares.com/index.php?download

The file is the second listed under "FREE Software".

When I download the file, Nod32 places the file in quaranteen.

    Is this a true virus?

    Thanks.

Bitdefender, Dr. Web, NOD and VBA all report it as adware, Relevant to be precise, all four are definition detections and not heuristic.

Seeing that 4 Avs call it adware, I wouldn't, there are other programs that perform the same functions I believe.

Thanks for the replies - after doing a lot of "googling" - as everyone suggests, the file is indeed unsafe.

Videoinspector comes bundled with "RelevantKnowledge" - which apparently gets installed, even if you twice choose NO during the installation routine.

Other malware apparently is also bundled with the program.

For what it's worth almost all the software in the free section on that page brings the same detection.

    Hello,

SiteAdvisor brings up some yellow downloads from that website. One of those yellow downloads is the VideoInspector executable file. You probably shouldn't post links to potential malware.

    Regards,

    Mark.
