I'm glad it was simple as well, though I *never* look for the easy first -- just a pain and agony kind of guy. Low level apps going goofy can be a major problem so I'm glad this one was easy.

I did have the latest NOD engine yet saw no popup and I'm the only person using this machine. The only thing I can figure is I was not using the auto-update feature, preferring to manually update. That could have something to do with it. <<shrug>> If I were a NOD reseller, I wouldn't be too happy about that little deal myself.

Yeah, me too. Thanks for your offered assistance. :)

    HI,
Since it seems everyone has had their problems fixed, I thought I might try my luck.
I have recently begun experimenting with Linux and thought it a good idea to download Nod32 V1 for Linux to see if I could get it working. I know most people say it is not needed for Linux but I fell kinda naked without an anti-virus.
The problem is that I cannot download it. I have tried UN/PW for both licences I have with no luck. I have cut and pasted, typed in, typed into a notepap document and then cut/pasted and had the UN/PW checked by my better half before trying, all with no luck. I have tried with IE, FireBird and Mozilla the last 2 using both Win98 and Linux. Also the same UN/PW work fine if I try to download V2 for Windows.
I have also contacted Eset with this but apart from an auto response and an e-mail asking if I was happy with the solution to my problem (o_O?) I have not heard from them.
    Anyone got any Ideas
By the way my licences are still current, both due in June 2004

    Hi Kym,

Linux and Windows versions require separate licenses to be purchased. Anyway, what address did you email the inquiry to as we do not use an auto response system?

    Blackspear,
I purchased Nod online at the Australian site.

    Marcos
In my original e-mail to Nod I was asking that very question "Can i use the same licence for for both Windows and Linux on a dual boot machine". I got back an e-mail that seemed like an auto-reply, saying something along the lines of, your request has been logged and to try cut/paste UN/PW from this e-mail. The next e-mail I got was asking if I was happy with the solution to my problem and my problem would be place on listas completed. There was no e-mail between containing a solution....
If as you say a seperate licence is needed, why was I not told that then, if I had been, the problem would have been solved there and then.
It seems a bit silly to need two licences for the same machine, but if that is the case, I will take the risk. I sure as hell cannot justify three licences for two machines.
Perhaps you can check out what e-mails went back and forth to see what went wrong where.

    Thanks,
    Kym

Hi Kym, if you contact Rod at Nod32 Australia, he will be able to sort your problem out.

    Cheers :D

You have been corresponding with Eset in Slovakia (and maybe in the USA).

NOD32 for the Windows family and the *nix family require separate licensing, even on a dual boot machine ... they are completely different programs.

That would be better than replying here ... I don't login all that often.

    Rod,
That would be strange, because I sent all e-mails to sales@nod32.com.au
Anyway, makes no difference now. Thanks for clearing it up though.
I won't have to call now.
    Thanks,
    Kym

Extremely strange ... "your request has been logged and to try cut/paste UN/PW from this e-mail. The next e-mail I got was asking if I was happy with the solution to my problem and my problem would be place on listas completed." is a nod32.com thing ... we do nothing even remotely like this in Australia.

    OK
