    Hi there,

I rectified the bugs from the ASW which I was facing, for the manager of the local store where I bought & returned TI 2009 & DD 10 2160.

But i'm done with TI & DD, since I switched to Symantec PM & Ghost.

I have one query regarding the buggy ASWs.

If one use a Resue Builder boot media to Create a Full Backup,

& once all 3 steps...Analyzing, Creation & Validation are done,

Should one go to tools/options to click on exit......or click on close on the display by clicking on the Rt corner X firstly?

Secondly should the media be ejected from the optical drive BEFORE starting the OS?

    Hoping to hear from you.

    Thanks.

    Click wherever you wish.

If you don't eject the CD how will the OS boot since presumably the boot order allows booting from the CD first?

    Boot order is HD first.

The OS is already installed.......just taken a FULL BACKUPImage.

To sum it up you mean to say that media should be ejected.......even if the OS is fine & hasn't crashed etc?

As soon as you write an image backup (and optionally verify it) you are finished using the Acronis CD until you decide to do a restore from that backup. At that time you boot the CD (boot order must have CD before hard drive) and run Acronis from the CD, do your restore, and then you are again finished with the CD. Boot Windows or whatever system you use and get back to work.

Hope this is the info you are asking for.

    Hi there,

I would like to know if you have a thread of the issues you had with DD/TI/OSS prior to using another program for the functionality you were using. I am a new user and an experieced computer professional. I am new to Acronis and am looking before I leap. Knowledge is power and I had usually just poked around an application and show my prowess by not referring to help documants and support forums. I have decided to change all of this and thus my query.

If you lead me to some links or maybe explain (TV Guide version) that would be helpful. I have been sucessfull with things so far, but, I am about to use T&D and to resize & partition an USB 1TB HDD so I can put Ubuntu on it.

Make it a great Day! :thumb:

I'd try to make it simple.

I made a Ghost bootable ISO, since I prefer Cold imaging vs. Hot.

Boot with it....create a full back image.........place it on some other partition/drive.....when done should I remove the media & than go on?

With Ghost one can always create or restore a full back up without having to install any sw...........hypothetically even if an OS crashes & one has a created a backup it can be easily restored with the bootable ISO.

My question is simple....after creation/restoration of a full back up should media be removed & than to go on or an exit from bootable ISO & than proceeds?

I really don't get your problem. But maybe this will help. The TI rescue CD is a memory-resident implementation and the CD can actually be removed once the TI program is loaded. It is done this way so the drive can be freed up to put in a disk containing the archive.

If you have set the boot order to boot the rescue CD to do a backup/restore then I don't see how you can revert back to the HD without removing the CD because if it is in the drive it will boot before the BIOS considers booting the HD.

    I agree.
It was a hypothetical question......as I place the backups on HDs & not media....once the bootable iso media is loaded....I can remove it.....coz the sw goes into the memorydat/kernels..........I create/ restore the backups from the HD.
