About 1 out 4 logouts I get the popup that says TrueImageMonitor not responding. I can click it to End Process or wait for it to be terminated. Why it this happening and how do I stop it?

I am using TIH 2009 on a XP sp3 system.

    Hello MikeV99,

Thank you for choosing Acronis True Image Home 2009!

Please download the last available build of the program from our web site.
Your serial number has to be registered.
After that you can download the registered program here.

If it doesn't help you can disable TrueImageMonitor (it s responsible for the tray icon):
    - Run "msconfig" command;
    - Open "Startup" tab;
    - Uncheck TrueImageMonitor

    Thank you.

My product is registered and I can log on to my account. The only download available is 9709.

    My build is already 9709.

I do not have an Acronis tray icon, why?

TrueMonitor is enabled in my startup and the TrueImage process is running. The TimounterMonitor process is also running.

If I disable TrueMonitor will my scheduled tasks still run? I have looked in the user manual and do not see a description of this process. Where is it documented? What functionality do I lose if I do not start it?

I did a search in the knowledge base and found http://kb.acronis.com/content/2050. I tried to read that article, but it said I needed to log in. I logged in with my Acronis account userid/pw (which works) and got this error message:

    Access Denied / User Login
    Sorry, unrecognized username or password.
Access denied. You may need to login below or register to access this page.

If I click on the Support link at the top of that page it takes me to a support page which shows me logged in?

Do I need to have a separate userid/pw to read KB articles?

    Hello MikeV99,

Thank you for using Acronis True Image Home 2009

"TrueImageMonitor.exe” - Acronis True Image Monitor. This program provides the interface between running Acronis True Image tasks and the user. It allows to observe the tasks progress and cancel the running tasks. It is started when a user logs into the system and terminates when the user logs off. This program is not required by Acronis True Image to perform schedule tasks, and can be terminated if you think it occupies too much memory, but you will loose the ability to control running Acronis True Image tasks.

Have you tried to reinstall the program? Does the issue persists?

    Best regards,

I have not tried to uninstall and reinstall. I have not had the product installed for very long and as far as I remember the Acronis icon has never been visible in the tray. Does the icon show up in the tray only when an Acronis task is running?

When I get home I will turn off the monitor since I run backups at night when no one is logged on. If it is disabled and a task is running and one starts Acronis won't the task be visible in the task list? Why do you belief an uninstall and reinstall will fix things.

I am still having this problem with the Acronis web site. Should I start a separate thread?

    Hello MikeV99,

The task will be visible in the tray only when it is running. Reinstallation of the program should fix the initial issue with TrueImageMonitor.exe popup, as some Acronis drivers probably got corrupted.

The article you point to is for internal usage, that’s why you can’t see it. It’s about the description of the Acronis True Image mounting technology under Windows. It described TimounterMonitor.exe process which is responsible for the mounted images.

    Best regards,

    Hi MIKEV99

The uninstall and reinstall will probably fix things as Acronis Support say. Build 9709 is the latest UK build now available for registered users.

You may have read in these threads about 2 later builds 9770 and 9788. I dont think that registered users can now download these as they have been pulled due to problems entering serial numbers.

Build 9770 was I think for the UK and 9788 build was for the USA.

Anyway my point is that a new build for the Uk should be released, in quote "1-2 weeks" accordng to Dmitry (Acronis Support) posting in a thread today.

    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=245685

So you might want to wait for the next build or just do the rebuild now anyway.
