Build 9770 released

All Acronis software seems to be TRIAL, with us users doing the testing.

Aint that the truth!

 

I just downloaded the 15 day full version and installed it. It is build 9709. I am not sure after reading this thread which version it should be?

Yes it is confusing. Perhaps some one from Acronis could let us know what is going on.

The history of new builds from Acronis seems to be: different versions for different parts of the world. For example the German version seems always to lag behind the UK and US releases.

It seems that the build 9770 is available if you know where to look on the UK site. But its not on the main part of the UK site.

 

Just go to the EU site HERE, login, and you will see the UK 9770 version listed for download in the registered products section.

d.chatten is quite correct. There I see Acronis True Image Home 2009 Build #9770 May 29, 2009.

And when I compare more carefully the 9770 release notes with the 9709 I see the former has three new items:

• Fixed resetting of password and encryption options when editing a task prior to its first run
• Fixed the issue of incorrect log entry when scheduled task for incremental backup to USB HDD (which is recognized as non-removable) fails when this HDD is not present, but the log says "Operation has succeeded."
• Fixed loss of some default "File level security options" during My Data task creation

 

The build is now available as an upgrade under my registered products.

I never received any email from Acronis about the new build. This was promised here in the Forums by Acronis support only a few months ago. So presumably either they did not bother again or their subscription lists still dont work.

 

It is still not available in the US.

 

Nothing works on my progress bar except a fain sliver of green then it quits...both immediate and total progress. This has been so for the last two versions. I also note that Acronis never steps in and represents the companies view. This once was a great product and great company but all the worker bees are busy trying to come up with more exotic bells and whistles so they can sell you another version...no matter that it is riddled with flaws. Very disappointed. I have stopped recommending this product to my friends.
