I just downloaded Zonealarm trial from Zonelab site and NOD32 detects it as a virus.

Yup! Same here with the Pro version. Also unable to submit file for analysis. (What's with this?)

Do you think it might be a false positive? I doubt that this file could be infected.

Likely a false positive. Will not be any different downloading from your link kriebly. Nod will detect it as well! Just have to wait for the Powers that be.

    MBAM found no threats!

Yeah, the link is for the Eset folks, since we can't submit the file to them. :)

    Hi all,

I also run ESET NOD32 v 4.0.437 alongside with ZA Pro firewall v 8.0.298 on Windows Vista Business SP-2 and never noticed this problem.

Although, I know there were past versions of the ZoneAlarm installer that included a toolbar which NOD32 used to flag as unwanted program.

Could you try to untick the unwanted programs detection on NOD32 and try to download the ZA Pro installer again to see if this time it's still detected as a virus?

    Kind regards,

    Carlos

got the same problem with my sister pc, it is just a unwanted program included with the trial version, not a virus

Disable NOD before install ZA trial and be careful while the install, dont accept anything else but ZA

Got the deed done. Disabled Nod32AV downloaded file, uninstalled ZAPro with removal tool. Installed new version and we're back in business. However Nod32 did find both the installer and uninstall tool! I'm certain this will be picked up with next update

is it still detected? There was just another update, 4136, might fix the problem.

The files you posted links to are no longer detected, seems the FP was fixed with 4136.
