I'm sure you and the PrevX staff are enjoying your postings here, but what are you actually trying to achieve? You start a thread in which you want to 'expose' (i.e., bash) other vendors' claims, and ask people not to get involved in vendor bashing. Mmm.

People's complaints about PrevX have not been about them praising their own product - of course they do, and does every vendor, and rightly so - but the tactics they have used by presenting statistics which are targetted at specific, named, competitors of theirs, completely misleading and wholly unsubstantiated. There's nothing you've posted here, incidentally, that shows other vendors using the same tactics.

Now, you have posted excerpts from lots of vendors' web sites here: I wonder, how many of them have given you permission to reproduce their copyrighted material? Do you really feel you are going about this the right way?

Seems simple to me. Don't like their marketing don't use the product. But thread after thread of Prevx bashing is beyond ridiculous. People have stated what they do not like and Prevx has stated the charts are staying. Oh well. Don't use the product. In the end it may hurt the bottom the line for Prevx. Check out Threatfire's claims on their website. Very similar.

Other vendors have no need to advertise this way because they have been tested independently,PrevX would have nothing to advertise if they didnt put up their own stats

Its seems the OP in this thread has done what he set out to do:-wind up the fanboys of nearly every AV product out there,he deserves some credit for that!

    Yep, thats me.:D

    Definition of: fanboy

A male (or female if a "fangirl") who is completely devoted to a particular work. Fanboys are fiercely loyal and steadfast in their opinion. With regard to computers and technology, fanboys outnumber fangirls by a huge margin and may be enamored with particular computer platforms, MP3 players, cellphones, operating systems, video games or applications.

While I agree that this forum is frequented by fanboys of all sorts of products, I don't actually see any posts in this thread that can lead you to your conclusion (except, possibly re the OP himself). In fact, it seems to me those who have posted to the thread have been rather restrained.

Hi all, just for the record i am NOT a Prevx fanboy, ok !

In fact i only installed last week, along with some other Apps to test it https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=243937 It didn't do as well as a couple of other products, but nontheless didn't disgrace itself.

I quite clearly stated right from the beginning what the modus operandi is for this thread.

An expose' is in NO way a (bash). It's what it is, showing how vendors describe their products. I'm not inventing what they say, it's all there in glorious technicolour for all to see. What people take from it is their business.

This is the kind of thread that makes me wish there was a $1.00 charge for each post. In that case this thread wouldn't exist, because.......(fill in your own blank)

they don't actually defend their chosen product by name but some are trying to say the ad claiming another product caught stuff theirs missed is just advertising hype, without finding out if the claims are accurate or not or how the data was gleened
