Win32/pacex.Gen Alert

    Dear ALL,

    One of my client has recently got the attached alert. Tried with in-depth analysis but it still exist. Could it be completely removed? Please instruct, thanks a lot!

    Hi Alex,

    Disable system restore...then enable it again. This should take care of the problem.

    Thanks for you quick response! So you mean disable restore and reboot, then enable it again? Or should I disable it and scan, then reboot and enable? Thanks again!!! Appreciated! :)

    Disable and re enable should be sufficient. Disabling deletes the previous restore points which is where the virus is. You can re boot in between if you wish but I don't think it's needed

    You can also submit the file for analysis if you wish since it is a generic detection.

    So means that no virus scan is needed between disable and re enable?

    You can do a scan after enable to make sure it's gone.
