Run Safer will not be in effect without Program Guard.

Replaced GeSWall with Sandboxie. Fits better with my security scheme. Also added, Process Hacker.

Does using OpenDNS have any negative effects? ((Browsing) speed, compatibility, access issues, etc.?)

Okay, gonna do that once noone is surfing. :)

Do I need to configure anything after that, e.g. need to create a free account and setup stuff?

No negative effects here, only positive.

Just follow the simple directions here.

Yes, that's the link I was following. I was thinking about the create account-thing, which says optional, but would also provide customization options it seems. What I'm wondering is if they're useful or if the default settings are optimal for the server.

Behind router + fallbacvk/recovery an external harddisk, offline except voor monthly bakups (image = paragon, data = syncback, both Free)

    Laptop
    A) Malware defender as FW
    B) DefenseWall 2.54
    C) Drive Sentry (trickle feed paid version)
    D) Keyscrambler Free for IE

    Browsing with
    - IE8 for shopping
    - Chrome for daily browsing

    Desktop
    A) Windows FW + GeSWall set network to confidential to untrusted
    B) AVG ID paid (had a lisence somewhere)
    C) AVG Free 8.5
    D) Keyscrambler Free

    Browsing with
    - IE8 for shoppping and banking
    - Chrome for daily browsing

I change a lot on the desktop, laptop is more or less constant. Only one lisence not used (A2), so combo's try to use as mutch as possible lisencess as is sensiblle to use. So not the best protection, but the best usage of lisences :p

I've been using OpenDNS for almost a year now (with free registration) and its been quite helpful from a security standpoint. I use the service for filtering since my children are all on pc's in the house. It prevents them from going to sites, even redirects, that are likely to be exploited (porn and such) or just inappropriate. You should register because it gives you more control of how your DNS gets filtered.

For server I don't because never use it for that, but for the rest is great.
You should have an account, and if your router support it set or opendns login on it to have your settings on your network.

If not, install the opendns client software.. ;)

Or you can just use their IP's for DNS...

I use it on my router, dd-wrt, and set to block adware and phishing...
But they also protect you against other things by default... ;)

Okay. I can see how "server" got misunderstood. :D I was refering to "DNS Server" - their DNS servers and the customization's importance. :D

Do posters think just CIS + Prevx + KeyScrambler or CIS + Threatfire + KeyScrambler is enough protection real time?
