I went to betterantivirus.com. They don't have a download link for ESS 4.0, just ESS 3.0.621. I attempted to download the ESS 4.0 Trial version from their website. They must have redirected it to the the ESET server in Europe. A 35Mb file wouldn't take that long to download from a U.S. server.

Could be. I bought a renewal for $75.99 and downloaded it there. It looks like it might be re-directing to:
    Code:
    http://download.eset.com/download/win/ess/ess_nt32_enu.msi

I went ahead and downloaded the Trial version using my License Username and Password.

I didn't bother uninstalling v4.0.314. Just installed with the new Trial version of 4.0.417 right over the top of it.

Went pretty seamlessly. Just had to reboot mostly. Did the updating. Rebooted....still got the popup.

    So,....

I'm gonna be busy watching an NBA Playoff game. My Hometown Los Angeles Lakers up against the Utah Jazz.

Might be best to uninstall and have a clean up,then install 4.0.417 fresh. Good luck.;)

Without a doubt, normally. I'm not really all that concerned with it right now. I've got some work I gotta get started on soon so I don't plan on keeping my current OS up and running much longer. I can have a whole new OS up and running in less than 10 minutes if I wanted to.

I've got something even better than doing the uninstall/reinstall bit; burned on a DVD I have a Ghost Image without any AV/Security applications on it at all, just a bareboned XP SP3 with all the updates, maybe 2~3 minor knick-knack applications and tweaks on it.

Playing the "waiting game" right now. Hopefully someday ESET will manage to include a little fix for the Application popup issue amongst all the other MAJOR fixes. Till then I can only wait before I start rebuilding my Ghost Image "library" again.
