Okay, it is now 1.10am and I am growing very weary over what should've been a ten minute task at most: simply installing the trial version of NOD32 v4, which I *may* purchase if this problem can be solved EASILY:

I have been unable to get past this "status":

Virus scanner initialization failed. Most of ESET NOD32 Antivirus modules will not function properly.

An old thread from the FAQ page suggest I run c:\program files\eset\installation\setup.exe /test . . . but that thread dates from 2005 and there is no setup.exe file . . . (indeed, I had great trouble installing using the eav_nt32_enu.msi file until I moved it into the C:\windows\installer directory.

I'm the administrator of my own machine, running Windows XP SP2.

I really need this fixed SOON. Any help is much appreciated.

Check if the eamon.sys driver is loaded (e.g. you can find it in a SysInspector log in the Drivers section).

    Hello
I'm currently experiencing such a problem, since release 3, with one of my old PC...
I wrote some posts about that problem...

    Regards
