Win32 Wigon KE trojan and NOD32

I got a couple of attacks by the Win32 Wigon KE trojan today which NOD 32 quarantined and deleted. There are two instances showing up in the quarantine list of NOD 32 (version 3.0.650.0)

When I reboot my computer and run CCleaner, the files marked for deletion always show up again. Why is that?

I have now installed ThreatFire (free version) to run along NOD 32 to hopefully give me some extra protection.

Since the trojan is quarantined, am I worrying needlessly? What if some day I uninstall NOD32--then what would happen to things in quarantine? It seems to be quite complicated to eradicate a trojan.

I'm not sure what to do, I've never had a trojan in 12 years on the Internet.

So about your trojans, just go to the tools>> quarantine>>select objects(trojans,whatever) then, delete. That's it, they are completely deleted from your computer, which was detected by eset. But i suggest you to do a full scan of pc before unistalling nod32.

 

I'd suggest installing v4. Not only it's able to remove resistant threat, it will also enable you to create a log from SysInspector that you can subsequently analyse or send it to customer care for perusal.

 

In my version of the program there are only two buttons "Add" and "Restore" upon selection. If I select the items and press the Delete button on the keyboard it says "Do you really want to remove selected items from quarantine." It doesn't delete them, it removes them from quarantine. I'm confused.

Marcos, I still have until May 31st 2009 on my license for version 3. I can't give up six weeks I paid for. I have to uninstall version 3 to install version 4. It doesn't say anything about keeping my current expiry date. I don't have the money right now to renew my license.

There is no charge for upgrading to a new version of the software nor does doing so affect your expiration date.

Oh great, thank you for replying. I see version 4 is pretty unstable at the minute, so I'll hold off until you guys get that worked out.

Version 3 always had a problem of hogging resources on my computer. My first postings back in May 2008 were about this. I can't even pull up a browse screen for images without a long delay.

I'm not sure if version 4 would fix that on my computer, but that's one of the things I'd be looking to be improved.
