Thank you very much, another question. Does Antivir free upgrade (I mean for example from version 8 to 9) automatically through build-in updater or user has to do it on his own by installing the new version manually?

You will get a choice and in case you select, the installer will remove the old one and install version 9 for you.

I get it, but I would like to know if there is possibility to auto-upgrade to the newer version through the build-in updater, or do I have to download the file manually?

I auto upgraded through the built in upgrader, actually it offered me the new version and I allowed it to do so.

If I install the latest FREE Avira, will it take a lot of resources and affect my online gaming and make Vista run slower?

I just installed latest Avira and I skipped the section to enter personal details during the installation.

    Will that stop Avira updating?

Nope, Avira is among the lightest performers and Free Avira has no webshield either so no online gaming impact if any.

As I posted previous in this 3D, Avira 9 free after the installation doesn't update: I try to run the update but nothing happens. I first uninstalled Avira 8, I cleaned my pc, also trying the Avira remotion tool, but the result is the same.

    OT: HAPPY EASTER ! :)

Try running OSAM, to check for unremoved software.

OSAM didn't find anything, but Avira 9 again doesn't run the update. Conflict with my CIS - 3.8.477 version - ? I don't believe, I have a friend who runs the same CIS version and Avira 9 without problems.

Bought a license for Premium, only because complete automatic operation wasn't a part of Personal Edition. Can't say I'm disappointed till now, though. :D

HUH? Running CIS 3.8.65951.477 with Avira Premium 8 (reverted back from 9 to 8 ): no problems updating. The time I used Premium 9 (that I used 8-10 days) I had no problem either updating.

Could it be a misconfig in CIS?

It's the first thing I thaught: I tried all with CIS to install Avira 9: disabling Defense + or setting in Training Mode, setting the fw in Training Mode...nothing; and it is not necessary anyway with Avira 8

Do you know if with this version AntiVir can auto-upgrade its program version, like avast! already do?

Yes, AVIRA can fully auto-update itself (sigantures and program) just like avast! does.

It was the same with previous version. AntiVir 6 had this too as far as i can remember, it just wasn't this flexible as it is today.

I tried to use the program update feature in v8.0 and the results said that everything is optimal... :(

It seems that they have the feature but doesn't work...
