Re: COMODO Internet Security 3.9.73015.489 BETA Released

If you are referring to the testing done by aigle then you are completely wrong..

CIS alarms 11 times for the conflicker not one as aigle reported.. he had made global allow rules for D+ in his testing..

Check that out (actually himself describing how he tested it):
    http://forums.comodo.com/leak_testi...efence_plus-t33410.0.html;msg240110#msg240110

If the testing had been done without those rules CIS would have popped 11 TIMES.. Where at least one is "maleware behaivior"..
(I know this since new testings was made without those "allow" rules that aigle added)

Cis really never had an issue with conflicker..

Thats just pure BS.  D+ was not bypassed by any means..
And didn't alert bad in anyway..

Yep, aware. ;) Yes, that's probably the case where Melih flew in with his comment.

@Iam: Only remember the alert-thing, and that was the main point - D+ was not being clear enough. Thx for the heads up, though. :)

Re: COMODO Internet Security 3.9.73015.489 BETA Released

THE TESTING WAS MADE WITH SEVERAL HAND ADDED "DONT INTERCEPT THIS" / ALLOW RULES..

HOW THE HECK CAN YOU CLAIM THAT CIS DID NOT INTERCEPT IT WELL WHEN ALL THOSE WAS ADDED::

D+ pops as its supposed a lot for conflicker..

And even alarm for malware behavior.. what more can you ask for? It intercept every aspect of it.. And gives the CORRECT alerts..

Please feel free to explain what of the more than 10 alerts you think are inaccurate..

Or why when it even says MALWARE BEHAVIOR.. that that is bad alerting.. =S

I didn't go deep into that - but just the surface on what the alert presented, and Melih's reply in that topic, which IMO was VERY OT.

I don,t want to restart this discussion again but CFP alert about memory acess was poor as compared to OA. It,s clear.

As far as the 11 times pop ups are concerned, after u had used Defence plus for sometime, u will never get most of these alerst as by that time defence plus would have learnt most of these rules and will allow them. So they will be pretty uselss in that case IMO.

    Bah.

I doubt many people add those 4 rules you added.. Its pretty advanced stuff, and advanced users don't add crazy allows, + you should know better than to test CIS with your very own custom allow rules, and claim that it was done using some kind of default settings!

+ the testing you made was unfair.. The only product you tested with custom ALLOW rules was CIS..

Your assumption that all CIS users after a while adds a lot of "allow everything" rules are completely bogus..

Your and the two guys above is criticizing CIS for doing what you told it to.. "DO NOT ALERT FOR THIS.."

It was clear your testing of CIS vs conflicker was poor.. And that those 2 above did not do the research.. o_O o_O

    Bah.. Whatever..

I just hate how all those CIS threads gets packed with Haters that has to post some bad stuff, especially when they got the facts from a wrongly preformed test.. I know you intentions are good and that you are a guy Aigle but it seems like picking on CIS is a must for some..

I just can't deal with all those "CIS can't intercept Conflicer that well"

When it actually has the BOprotection that can prevent it, the Antivirus that can catch it, D+ that alarms you A LOT and even says malware behavior..
Its just pure bogus.. That CIS somehow is un-capable to catch the conflicker worm.. =S

I wounder how PrevX or OA would feel if I joined every discussion as some here at wilders do and just posted pure junk flame claiming this and that as some do with CIS.

I don't join up every Norton thread and say "hey it don't have 100% prevention such as CIS.. bla bla"..

Its not something CIS fanboys do..
I really believe the CIS fanboys is not the worse.. =S
At least they won't "invade" every thread to spread some kind of picture that something that is really good, really sucks and is totally unusable..

I don't see where these guys get the energy to hate a product that much so they feel the need to join every COMODO thread and start criticizing..

Hmm.. it,s a fact, that is true not only for CIS but also for all other classical HIPS, or otherwise one will not be able to use his/ her PC.

    I will stop here however.

Lol its not.. You can use "threat as trusted application" for instance if you are sure the app is safe while running unknown wierd apps with single yes no approach.. Also the white list is huge, and 3.9 has a new pretty cool thing done to the popups, making it possible to select allow the app right away..

    You should check it out..
I stop there as well.. :thumb: ;)

Re: COMODO Internet Security 3.9.73015.489 BETA Released

Yes the beta is running very well and light with SBIE on my WinXP pro (sp3) machine and my Vista Home (sp1) machine. The new simple popups are a nice feature. Also, they have expanded their white list and My trusted software vendors is working perfectly. I had issues with that in previous versions but they seem to have fixed it. Another nice thing is Threatcast also is working now. Before I would never get any Threatcast ratings. Boclean is included as well for memory scans.

It really is a Love/Hate relationship with CIS. On one hand there are some great features and ideas but every now and then I get frustrated with a change they make. Overall a very good product. My hats off to the Comodo team.

Re: COMODO Internet Security 3.9.73015.489 BETA Released

I have a problem with the beta. Always when i start Advanced System Care (Iobit), the system restart. I added the Folder program to My safe files, added to the Trusted software vendor, but the issue has continued. There is no event logged relationed to this in Defense+ events (like blocking something) or Antivirus events. Anyone here use Advanced System Care and have the same behavior? Now while i'm writing this i have another restart from nothing. I'm using Vista x86 Ultimate, Prevx edge, Sandboxie and defense Wall. Maybe some imcompatibilite?

Please this is only a issue report!!!!

    sorry for my english

Probably someone that uses CFP longer than he does, tests and reports problems hoping for improvements, like aigle.
Any criticism is the end of the world..

well just installed the beta suite after uninstalling all my other security software and it seems allright, but my system was much less responsive compared to my current setup, so ill stick with what i have till they improve CIS's performance (and im not talking about RAM)

Strange that,I've found just the opposite effect, things such as time opening explorer windows and right-click on folders, etc are speedier with this beta.:doubt:

Catches it here! Are you running 64 bit?
Under known issues on this beta you could see before:

    * 64 bit version does not apply some Defense+ hooks in this version (Keylogging, Screen capturing, windows messages)

But those hooking's are there as well for 64 bit now.. (I dunno what coursed the delay..)

You must however use the latest 3.9.73525.491 and not 3.9.73015.489 :isay: :thumb: Still not working?
