Thanks Mike. I have to say this RC is a champion here concerning the resources it takes. Firewall works faster than native windows firewall, CPU time and memory are amuzing :)

:) Thanks! It doesn't take much to do it and I think it's a really nice touch. I prefer the Easter one to the Christmas one we did. Trying to decide which of the next holidays we should cover :)

Any old L'n'S users who could compare latest OA RC cpu/resource usage on huge network connections (torrent with 1250+ half-opens).

I don't want to start a comparison thread against other firewalls, I'm interested in OA, but I would like to get an idea of how 'light' is the 3.5RC 'light' under really heavy filtering loads - compared to something I know well (which is LnS).

Also, are there any news yet on Windows 7 compatibility plans?

    Thanks guys!

    Good news everyone!

It looks like OA has finally released the final version of OA v3.5.0.9:

I removed the link in the above post. Any links pointing to the release candidate, or beta area have been removed.

Thanks for the news, guys. I'll be taking v3.5 for a spin this weekend. However, one question pops up: has the issue with Steam been fixed? I've heard that OA causes some problems with Steam's Game Overlay. Any news on this?

We fixed the steam issue yesterday while the release was being rolled out. This meant it could not be tested, and therefore - did not make the release.

I will get an update onto the public beta forum for this - and if all works as planned, we'lll update the release version with a hotfix in a day or so.

Thanks for the heads up, Mike! I'm looking forward to trying it out (the free version, that is -- hope it gets uploaded soon!). The last time I tried OA, as much as I liked it, I had to get rid of it; it caused a terrible slowdown on my Vista's boot up time. I've heard that issue has been taken care of, and with all the good news about how light it is, I'll hopefully be able to keep it this time :D .

I am hoping the Web Shield will work for me in the new $ version. My current $ version works fine in all aspects but if the Web Shield is active I am kicked back to my desktop with no rhyme or reason.

I am really looking forward to this latest
