    Have you, during install of new version of Java, window: 'Unzipping core files failed' ? And your install of Java failed?

    The solution: delete your folder Java in C:\Program Files\Java (101 MB); and reload Java.

    Also:
    @ in Control Panel/Java: uncheck: Automatic updates detection (Apply, OK);
    @ in Services: make disable the service: 'Java Quick Starter Service';
    @ in HijackThis: delete jqs.exe , jusched, Yeah!

    Yours tiny Java here ...:thumb:

    also, try disabling anti-virus software such as nod-32, which might cause error 1721.

    ... but first, to get rid of toxic assets from old versions of Java, and BEFORE downloading the new version, run JavaRa: http://raproducts.org/about.html
