I also would like to confirm that the patch does help a lot. The website loads a lot faster than before now. :thumb:

After experiencing unbearable V4 ESS Time-outs and reverting to NOD32 V4 (which works Fine) - if you want to try ESS V4 again
    (1) would the current ESS Download include the Patch?
    (2) if No, how do you "revert" to 1044 so you can apply the Patch?
    (3) this reads more as a fix for Router users. Do you see any hope for stand-alone Desktops with just an AT&T DSL modem? No reason to try it again if we're not under the Patch umbrella of users that should be Helped.......

I know I do not get any FW issue and do not use a Router, its the above settings I mentioned that slow WEB down to unusable state.

I think i can answer part of the above anyhow.

To revert to .44 FW simply run Update is Test Mode.

ESET are going to need do what Lavasoft did when they made a total Ballsup called Ad Ad-Aware 2007 and bury it quick and bring out a new build, 2008 was ok after a few builds and 2009 (Aniverery Bukld) is 99% ok by me.

Because nobody at ESET knows what to do. Guessing is the the new technology. Try this and try that and we will stumble upon what works

The patch worked for me for about 24 hours. Now I am back to not be able to load websites. Disabling the firewall immediately solves the problem. I am uninstalling and will run the AV only. I don't know that I will reinstall ESS any time soon... I don't have time for the aggravation.

BTW, I slipped up and forgot every so often on Windows Startup the FW is RED and I cannot use the WEB so a reboot is needed.

The above is no big deal but tonight it took 6 reboots to get it to work, this is a big deal and that's why I remembered this issue to post here.

How about for those people who are having issues with the NOd32 ANTIVIRUS, the same slow sites and download timeouts are occuring in the WEB SCANNING portion of the AV not the FIREWALL, it even happens when web scanner is turned off.
    When will that be patched?

I've followed the process, as I thought it was simple enough, but still getting disconnects.

This is a silly question but I have ESS 4 and the personal firewall module is 1044. I have no issues with my internet, so is it still recommended to do the update as per the KB article anyways? Or should I not bother with it for now?

Personally if your system is working fine, then I wouldn't bother with the update.

What eset is offering for download is really silly. Its absolutely not working.

I did a deinstall of version 4... installing version 3 again.

And I will not play around with a software full of bugs anymore.

Downlading, not working .. enable test mode, install a patch... in between I dont even remember how often I was rebooting the workstation....
And at the end still nothing works 100%. With 1045 (patch) its even worse then it was before !
And for all this I even pay money !!
I am totally fed up with this crap !

well, there's nothing else you can do if v4 gives you headache. I would give another shot to v4, when next upgrade comes (hopefully soon).

With all the problems seen on this forum, it would be better to scrap it entirely and start on V5

Agreed. After 1 day of switching from ESS v4 to NOD32 v4 and still having performance issues, I went back to ESS v3 and everything is fine, for now anyway. I hope they get this stuff fixed... soon.

Looks like a new BETA-Test to me.
Thats how it should be declared since problems with 1045 are already reported !

    Can you list the fixes.

And why cant we simply update ours ?

I ain't ran Test Mode for few days incase I end up on a weird FW as every time its a different build sometimes its lower or higher.
