Just so you know, Outlook 2007 in Cached Exchange Mode over HTTP/RPC is STILL unusable performance wise. The work around described by GAN is still required to make Outlook work.

Businesses are not going to appreciate this bug in the final release unless it's fixed.

    Hello,

Now that ESET NOD32 Antivirus v4 has been released, can you please try testing with the new version and see if that solves the problem?

    Regards,

    Aryeh Goretsky

    Hi there!
I found this forum because I was searching for problems with Outlook 2007 after installing NOD4. New version does NOT solve the problem. I do really appreciate the work around, it allowed me actually see my confirmation email to join this forum :)

What are the issues? I've been running it on my laptop for over a year this way, Vista Ultimate, Office 2007, NOD3 on the lappy.

    Hi YellowStone,

The problem is with the "Outlook Anywhere" which allows you to have an HTTP/RPC connection to the exchange server to download your emails without having to be connected to the VPN.

The problem still exists today where Outlook 2007 performance is severely degraded until you perform the work around posted in my first post. Using Outlook in a normal Exchange connection environment or by itself does not trigger performance issues.
