This is a REALLY good weather program Barely any resource usage and very accurate. This beats the heck out of the Firefox extensions,

Well crap, at least it works though. Here's to hoping there aren't any vulnerabilities in the software, lol.

 

As you can see, he stopped support back in June, however, I've used it for a number of years with no problems. I also have it installed on my Vista laptop.

 

I like visiting weather sites more than installing someones stuff. Reminds me of weather bug.

My primary weather site has been redesigned and instead of their own maps and data they now pipe weather.com to their site. If I wanted weather.com I'd point my browser their. Sheesh.

Storm Pulse shows some pretty definitive images but i didn't see a LOOP feature.

I live like so many others in the Tornado Alley and it's neccessary to have instant access to NEXRAD radars that "LOOP" continuously in order to determine an exact path strip should Super Cells develop.

I get this from a commercial program named StormPredator which i bought some 3 years ago but would really like to find either a commercial or free weather app that also produces the VIPRE 3-D images as well as lightning strikes perimeters and especially "wind circulation ring markers" in real-time.

This development for the public is slow as molasses since most civil public weather defense proponants seem to prefer weather radios instead.

IMHO, a mechanism of visual display of potential severe outbreaks would be a great preventitive measure for the public and save lives. No more can TV or Radio serve to warn, especially if a Super Cell has broken away and baring down fast on a particular area effectively neutralizing those two type of transmitting devices.

Cell Phones however are beneficial given enough towers are standing but i look for the day that weather pre-warnings are more geared through handsets via orbiting satellites that are far enough above the atmosphere and suffer less interference in such matters.

For weather buffs theres also Weather Watcher 5.6.45 which is impressive also with animated radar imaging and other features. (free also)

You'll notice with that the details of the latest weather watcher claim to access weather data from the NWS and of all things, weather bug? I dunno if weather bug still is an issue like once before or not, but i do use one of the earlier versions of Weather Watcher with ANIMATED RADAR LOOPS which are consistent but not in real time, but relatively recent shots.

Just an update:

So far after a few weeks of running Weather Pulse,it's been running good,so looks like it's a keeper

 

A few years ago when Google Earth really started coming on, i found some amazing LIVE weather overlays where you could actually track rain clouds going over your Google Earth position and they were continously updated. I think they were dmz files and maybe dml's but i spent a week looking for them again because a hard drive malfunction took all my collection down with it.

It was truly a feat of LIVE weather tracking in GE and it was partitoned (in the states anyway) in sections where you could lower your elevation and actually see (in lite green) the rain clouds and i verified by the time lapses that it was 100% in sync.

That sounds interesting. I've tried Google Earth before,but I couldnt seem to find a away to have any sort of animation. If I was able to find something like your describing,I would prolly keep Google Earth.

 

Try GRLevelX software. They are kind of pricey but it is live NEXRAD radar. They have a trial period of I think 21 days. I liked it so much I bought it. They are a whole world apart from StormPredator.

These type products are limited to TV markets alone right now but i look forward to the day someone utilizes this type "shear marker", cross-wind activity indictive of a Tornado signature for public distribution.

An interesting read for weather buffs.

I say this because of all the new TV technology maps which include 3-D level highlights of an approaching dangerous storm likely to go ground level with demolition effects of anything in it's path and indicated spots marked by circling shear markers, what happens when the TV signal is suddenly disrupted or electricity goes out some miles ahead of the path or area where you're in line for this severe damage.

With a Laptop equipped with this highly advanced life saving software, the safety chances are dramatically higher if your one tower is destroyed on approach, and your cellphone if you are connecting by way of one or even a HOT SPOT if in a moving vehicle, will simply switch cell towers to the next nearest operating one preventing total disruption and allowing you to continue to track in Real-Time this atmospheric turbulence long enough for you to make a directional change and avoid the line-of-fire approaching far enough away to complete your safety route.

 

This weekend we're supposed to have some potential strong t-storms so it'll be interesting to see how Weather Pulse handles displaying these alerts,etc.

Although somewhat more east of the expected high speed prevailing Pacific jet, my location is a feeder river from the upflow and pouring in of the Gulf Of Mexico humidy & water vapor (high dewpoint content) along the Mississppi Valley upward and those two when colliding together can spin off SUPER CELLS and we both know they have a life of their own once they tear apart and begin to zip away with high rotational speeds.

And the season is just beginning.

Upon installing,one thing I really didnt like is all those "try this software"etc.
But,I declined and installed it anyways.

It's has a nice view of the main window,but as far as comparing features,Weather Pulse has it beat IMO

 

Even with everything in your monster sig, you still lost files?

My Weather doesn't hold a candle to WeatherPulse but it did show a fairly nice GUI and detail. It is obviously though a ploy to entice users to use those other items in small print, but you can just ignore them, nothing redirects or forces you to take a tour of those other offers.

At least theres no active advertisements in it or i wouldn't bother posting it period.

 

Yeah, i had them on a Windows 98 hard drive and it went belly up as well as everything on it, so i tossed it in the rubbish can and chalked it up to misfortune.

Nothing like that is ever happened to XP on me.
