    Hello everyone,

I looked on several eset sites that I know, www.eset.com.br, www.eset.com, and www.eset.eu, but I can't find the link to download Nod32 Antivirus version 4. I only see the download link for version 3.0.684.
Can someone point me to the download link?

    Thanks,
    Danny

    Hello everyone,

Nod32 AV v.4 and ESS v.4 are now available in Portuguese.
You can download them at www.eset.com.br, www.eset.com, www.eset.eu, and I believe at any other ESET site.

    Thank you,
    Danny

I don't see it available for the trial versions. At least, not at http://www.eset.eu/download/trial?page_id=147&language=12498

I also don't get it why place a Portuguese (Brazil) and Chinese versions at this place. At www.eset.com is fine. Is a more general web site. At the www.eset.com.br is fine for the Portuguese (Brazil). But, placing the Portuguese (Brazil) at www.eset.eu may lead Portuguese people to believe they're downloading their language version, and when they realize is the Portuguese (Brazil) version is already too late.

There are many differenences between each Portuguese variant. We don't all understand the same meanings. One word may mean one thing in one country, and one other in the other. In a sentence, it changes everything.

The same feeling would a have a Brazilian person, if Eset (Brazil) placed a download for a Portuguese version, without clearly specifying they'd be downloading the Portuguese (Portugal) version, and I guess most of them would be having a hard time understanding quite a few sentences.

My suggestion would be either to have a Portuguese (Portugal) version, or just remove it from www.eset.eu. Or, if none of the mentioned before, clearly say at www.eset.eu that people will be downloading the Portuguese (Brazil) version.

    Hello,

Support for additional languages is planned, but please keep in mind that it does take time to produce a quality translation and there are other issues to consider as well. See this message for more information.

@m00nbl00d: When I used the trial version of Nod32 v.3 last year, it was also only available in English, not Brazilian Portuguese. Perhaps it is only available in English...I don't know?

I also agree with your suggestion. Most people that don't speak Portuguese don't realize that there is a big difference among the different versions of Portuguese. I think that it should be clearly stated what version of Portuguese will be download and installed.

I am happy to see that ESET is working hard to keep their products translated and up-to-date. The company I used before ESET only had their software in English and had no plans to translate it into other languages.

    Abraços,
    Danny.

Yes, I understand that a quality translation takes time, and couldn't be otherwise! (There's plenty of bad translations done to other applications, already!)

But, that was not my "complaint". My "complaint" is that it should be mentioned what Portuguese version is about to be downloaded.

Lets imagine that you'd be downloading a Romanian version. You install it, and then realize that this is one other Romanian version, which, understandably, has it's difference from the Romanian language you're used to speak and write. (Just an example.)

I'm not saying you should hurry to translate it to Portuguese (Portugal) version. No, as you well said, a quality translation is what we need. It's just that we're misleaded to believe that we're downloading our version from www.eset.eu (After all, .eu stands for Europe.), when it is not the case.

I'm OK with the fact that, while there's no Portuguese (Portugal) version, that the Brazilian Portuguese version is offered, but it should be stated that fact, so that people who don't feel quite comfortable with it, won't be downloading and installing it.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

The ESET web sites have been updated to say "Portuguese (Brazilian)" to prevent confusion between the European and Brazilian language dialects.

Agoretsky, thanks for letting us know! And thank you to ESET for listening to your clients! It is great to see a company that takes the time to listen to their clients and make changes as necessary.

Soon my licenses for Nod32 AV will expire. Because of the great support I receive from ESET and this forum I decided to continue with ESET and actually plan to upgrade to ESET Smart Security.:)

    Thanks,
    Danny.
