mbamservice.exe ?

    when realtime protection disabled, mbamservice.exe keeps appearing in processes tab of task manager and is using system resources. (system is clean, under protection). in order to use it as an on-demand scanner, what must be done to prevent it from loading itself at startup and using resources?

    You can stop MBAM from loading at startup by disabling its service.

    There is an option in the mbam gui to stop it from loading at startup. You can disable it though msconfig or services also.
