I have True Image 9.0 and an old laptop (Dell Inspiron 1100) with a DVD-ROM, USB ports, and no floppy drive.
Is there a way to create an iso file on the laptop and then transfer this to a machine that can burn a CD to make an Acronis bootable CD that can be used on the old laptop?
    Thanks

Yes, the software will let you make an iso of the bootable Rescue CD. Instead of choosing to burn to a CD, choose to make the iso instead. All of the Rescue CDs are not machine specific.

It turns out that True Image 9.0 does not have the option to create an iso file of the bootable media. Would you be able to tell me which versions (before 2009) have this capability? Thanks

TrueImage Home 9, build 3677 did have the capability of creating an ISO file. I have created one. I don't know about the later build 3854 as I never installed it. All versions 9, 10, 11 and 2009 have had that capability.

You could also install TI 9 on any machine with Windows 2K or XP (but not Vista) with a CD/DVD burner and simply burn the Rescue CD there. That will be the same Rescue CD that you would make on the notebook.

    Hello all,

Thank you for using Acronis True Image

brad999, if you are unable to create an ISO file, please make sure that you installed Acronis Media Builder. You should have selected the Complete installation. You can launch the installation file of the program again and install Acronis Media Builder separately.

    Thank you.
