I think SafeSpace was a whole different story and mind you that the home version was free for home users so they were financially dependend on corps only, also DS is a lil more suitable for the novice then a sandbox

I'm not sure if this is a problem but I'm using Vista Home sp1 and the Security Center says DS is not enabledo_O?:'( The little guy in the toolbox is red and it seems to be working.

    Thanks Katie DriveSentry,

As much as I like your programs, I don't see how useful it can really be for someone who uses their flash drive on any other computer besides their own. What good is DS GA without the AV?

In most situations when someone installs a program to their flash drive it is so they can take the program with them to run on other computers, but the problem is most of these computers will be limited accounts.

I would like to see a version of DS GA that can run on a limited account and be able to use the AV portion. That would be a thousand times more useful for someone who uses their flash drive on other computers than their own. If Avast can do it why can't you?

maybe im wrong, but im pretty sure DS GA is meant to protect u USB decive, not go and help clean other peoples systems, i culd be wrong, but thats my though on what it was used for.

Exactly, it is supposed to protect YOUR flash drive, but according to Katie, it is unable to do this if your on a limited account. But that's what most computers will be where your plugging in your flash drive.

then im not entirely sure, katie culd probly clarify better, my reply was more towards u syaing why there isnt an AV with DS GA since the HIPS-like features will protect the USB form writes.

I never said DS GA didn't have an AV. Katie said the AV potion of DS GA won't work on a limited account.

I didn't realize the hips portion of DS GA was separate from the AV, aren't they one and the same?

o alright, sorry miundertsanding. and no, the AV and HIPS are seperate components, just are both in the same app, although they do work together by like cross refrencing alerts, etc.

So maybe the hips portion of DS GA will work on a limited account? That would be nice if true.

    Ok, thanks.

I would be willing to pay double or triple the price for DS GA if the AV portion could be changed to work on a limited account. :D

In fact it would probably be better for DS if they raised the price a bit, that way with better cash flow things might move somewhat quicker. :D

i agree, although i use free version of DS desktop, i think it wuld benefit them if they increased the price a bit from the $10 for life on desktop vers. to i dunno, something a bit higher like $20 at least, get some more funding.

So, the new version is out and DriveSentry is still up and running :D
I guess i can re-ask my question now: are there any plans to make it 64-bit compatible in the near future? Or is that impossible like with Sandboxie?
I know 64-bit Windows has kernel protection but i'm sure there is malware out there that can still be very annoying without affecting your kernel.
I don't know if this one of the priorities of the dev team, however if it could be done, i'm sure it would be in DS's best interest to expand their market.
