    I second that!

It's adding even more useful features incorporated into an already respectful AV.

Can't wait for 9 to roll out completed myself.

I just installed the latest beta build and it is smooth as silk. The world's best malware detector just keeps getting better. :thumb:

I'm having a few issues under a LUA where the guard claims it's not running, when it fact it is, but other than that, things look good. It is indeed somewhat lighter than the version 8 too. :)

Nice to see Avira continuing to make progress. :)

New try, installed on a clean image with no third party security software installed, UAC off, no popups from windows - install went smooth n everythingh is functioning the way it should incl. most importantly firewall. I wont say there isnt any hicups but overall its doing good, also seems to have improved on V8

It updated itself to the latest beta without a hitch. Running smooth and light on Vista. It now has better security to protect itself...nice!

i heard that HIPS will not be added in this new avira 9 ?
and even if they add it will be an firewall-hips and not antivirus.

I think the updater being in German is intentional. It's been like that since the beginning of the beta period.

From the download beta section there are 2 options, beta suite n webloader, is that webloader an addon?

Webloader is new. Instead of downloading the app and installing it, it is installed and updated via the web. It is very cool and a feature that more will be using in the future.

Can you tell me more about it, is it another suite version or an addon?

The WebLoader always downloads the latest AntiVir files from Avira update server. This means that you will always have an up-to-date product after installation.
Currently in AV8 you're downloading a setup kit which does not contain the lates virus defnition patterns. So you have to do an update. The amount of data that has to be downloaded depends on the age of the product kit in relation to the current virus definition pattern files. In the worst case, the downloaded product is as old that the user has to download all virus definition patterns again a second time. This causes a lot of network traffic than can be reduced with the new webloader

Good Evening! Currently using Avira Premium, any update from Avira as to pricing of SS9? Are they planing to integrate promotional pricing for existing users? Or will the pricing be in step with SS8? Given the response the Beta has generated, the new suite seems to offer Avira's stellar quality parameters. Very exciting potential. Sincerely...Securon
