I guess with the little manpower they have, he doesn't have time. I went to the Chinese Ftfans forum too and i don't see him going there often either (last time it was months ago). But from what i understood (using google translation), Ftfans (the user we know) is in contact with Filseclab and acts as "spokesman". He posts in their forum various "official" answers to questions, about licensing, new updates, the firewall, etc.

Oh, one funny thing! In google translation, i was encountering very often "Fairbanks". I think it's the translation of "Filseclab". ROFL! :argh: At first i thought that some "Fairbanks" company was about to buy Twister and i was shocked. :D

If you are using the following link...
    http://www.filseclab.com/eng/

... then you should connect just fine. If still not connecting, then maybe one of your security apps or HOSTS file is blocking access. Or (shudder) it could be a nasty that blocks access to security sites.

Have you tried a different browser? Have you tried disabling your firewall, disabling your AV, etc?

Have you tried going to the filseclab site through an anonymous proxy server? Do a Google search for a free one.

I had trouble reaching a website one time and nothing I tried worked. I tried it through a proxy server and I was able to reached the site. I don't know what the problem was but the proxy worked for me.

    Hmmm...
    1) Your ISP has DNS problems. (Has happened to mine too when they were upgrading things, or an undersea cable was damaged, i could visit eu sites but no US sites for a while, etc). In the past you were able to visit the Filseclab webpage, right?
    2) China is banned from the IP list of your ISP.

Actually yesterday by accident i went several times to the Filseclab page and it was up and running normally. Only 1 time i have found their servers for uploading malware down and it was for less than 1 hour.

BTW, i got word from Mr. Bright Chu. Check again, now the Gimp should NOT be false positive anymore.

EDIT: He fixed my Abiword-Zhelatin FP too! :D
EDIT 2: I also gave him a link to the Twistee.org thread where proposals for enhancements are made. He said he will read it if he has time.

BryanJoe, can you visit this site without proxy?

    http://www.jiangmin.com/index.htm

(it's Jiangmin AV, also in China. I want to see if you have trouble in china IPs in general).

Hmm. In my case it loads immediately. My guess is your ISP is the cause behind all this. Either blocks some chinese IPs or is having DNS troubles towards chinese domains. If it's a DNS problem, it will pass in a few days. You could also try using OpenDNS and see if this resolves the problem with Filseclab page too. If yes, then it's definitely a DNS problem of your ISP.

We ALL have a hosts file. Simply, some people have "custom tailored" hosts file with manual entries.

    It's in C\Windows\system32\drivers\etc

And should only have your localhost.

Maybe could you try to go there directly by using their IP (i.e. bypassing the DNS checkup) http://119.18.201.3/eng/ to verify it is a DNS problem - or not.
