with the cost and reliability of modern hard drives, why bother with tape?

Could you confirm that

windows 2008 server can't backup into tape drive (normally)

but it is possible with 3rd application backup like acronis true image ?

Just read this perfid answer. Further up this thread support says the issue will be fixed in the next release (at that time last build was #8163).

Now that new version is out (build #8206 was released on the 26th of January) and everyone genuine enough expected that with the new message in the thread support will announce that the issue has been fixed, this smart guy waits for the day after and replies that no exact day is given on the new release (for him #8206 is already history) implying that he and the original poster are refering to the same thing.

"We are expecting release of the new build in near future"
