    EMERGENCY HELP PLEASE...
I am on a different computer logging in...I have had a major disaster...I updated 7 zip and Acronis with the new updates and rebooted my computer. It will not start normally. The only thing it starts with is the Acer basic screen telling me to press F12 to enter setup.

I put in my Acronis boot disk and pressed F12, and chose the DVD to start from. Acronis program loaded but it doesn't seem to know exactly what to do on it's own. I told it I wanted to restore my last incremental for my System State of last night but it is popping up a box to restore my entire C drive and my entire D drive. I only want to restore it back to the last System State incremental of last night. I'm am not sure what to do from here. If I uncheck the C and D drive it won't let me restore anything.

    What do I do?

    Thanks,
    Cindy

update: I just chose the last System State incremental and let it keep the C drive and figured what the heck...it went through it's process and said it was successful BUT IT STILL WOULD NOT BOOT!

I shut it off at the power button again and restarted it . This time I restarted it into safe mode and chose a system restore point from a day ago. It brought it back to a normal boot. (Sigh of relief)

but now this leads me to even more questions...
Why did the Acronis restore not fix the boot?
One of the two updates (7zip or Acronis) caused the problem. Has anyone else reported problems with the new Acronis update that you've heard about?

I'm quiting for tonight but will check back in tomorrow! I will do one update at a time tomorrow and see which one it was but am dreading getting back into the possiblity of not being able to boot normally.

    Good night,
    Cindy

I have no idea why you had a problem

I updated TI to 9709 with no problem. I can't see how 7 zip would affect booting.

Hope you are back to normal now OK.

What are you actually using TI to do and how often?

and do you have a Secure Zone and the Start up Recovery Manager enable (I haven't and I don't recommend it).

Did you have a TIB file of the C drive you could have restored?
