EQSecure 4.1 plus?

For the love of heaven and earth there *MUST be someone at the Chinese EQS development Team who can solicit an english translator.

It's been done before many times with earlier versions.

Don't they want to spread the PR around the world?

Come On developer, don't make us languish over this.

I sent them yet another translated email pleading for assistance:

In order to "encourage" a reply I would suggest other users interested in getting an official compiled English version to email EQS support. They cannot ignore us forever..... can they? I will post an update here if anything happens or not. Desperate needs require desperate measures! I can do no more.... Users are welcome to use my email as a "template"; so cut and paste at your leisure.

My guess is that there won't be any reply again, maybe someone who managed to establish a contact before could be more successful - anybody know where xuesisi is - as I remember he/she had some luck before..

We are gonna need to solicit as many sigs as possible in order for the petition to get any attention from them i think, then it's as good a guess as any if it will be serious considered let alone implimented given the cold shoulder treatment of recent months.

Beats me why they would charge into here like gangbusters, release and promote this great HIPS then suddenly cease even posting after that, because they have to know they still have rabid supporters of it, like me for one.

Easter, that's the very reason I'm starting a new thread, hoping many more will notice and sign the petition.
And who knows, if we end up without fulfilling the primary goal, maybe we'll at least get some clarification for this kind of attitude..

 

I m not sure i will like EQ Security 4 (didn't like much v.3 interface), but unless they translate it, i guess i 'll never know!

If it were translated by hand would you be able to add the translations to the program?

 

I got a reply from EQS support today:

EQSupport also attached an english language file in .zip format to help with an english translation. See attachment; IT MUST BE RENAMED FROM .TXT TO .ZIP FORMAT. It contains various .xml files for translation. Hopefully this will help. Looks like they dont have anyone available to translate for them. Its a start.

"I am sorry EQS limited manpower, there is no ability to translate Chinese into English, you can use google to translate the language english.zip annex to the document. Then install the following steps:
1: eqs installed in the directory to create the directory "Lang"
2: Copy english.zip to "Lang" directory
3: Modify the registry "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\EQSysSecure\Language" = English

Attached is included English.zip (renamed to txt due to wilders limitations) with the files that could be used for automated translations, but that was the thing that we already knew, and were already doing..

Anyway, looks like there's a bit of innuendo here, and I must take liberty to ask this (though I'm still thankful for this great and FREE software, of course) - how hard and time consuming can it be to do google translation and include those files in the installer yourself?! Let's be realistic, it really shouldn't take more than finally putting this mail together and sending it to couple of mail addresses...

Therefore IMO their answer should read "no we won't be supporting English speaking users anymore - period". It's a shame though, since this particular forum can provide the best possible user feedback any security software developer can even hope for!

So, regarding this topic, for now and for me it's "over & out"
