Our initial test runs with Windows 7 have been encouraging. A Vista/Windows 7 widget would look kind of cool given the proportions and information available on the current infobar. I think a Vista/Windows 7 widget is a future prospect.

Yes I did :D I’ve been informed the next build is the penultimate build to rootkit protection.

The minimum target system requirement for Windows XP is Service Pack 2 I’m afraid :'(

We concede the database is rather bloated. The team are confident about significantly reducing the database footprint at some point in the near future.

    Kind Regards,

    Katie

I have a question here. I'm thinking of trying out Drive Sentry. Any conflicts with Avast here? I wasn't sure if DS was considered an anti-virus or not.

DriveSentry is considered an AntiVirus program, so the usual applies when attempting to run more than one AntiVirus program on the same system…

    Kind Regards,

Well, though I'd decided some time before now, I just purchased a license for DriveSentry.

The actual purchase via it's internal mechanism and immediate program acknowledgment (and immediate email acknowledgement from DriveSentry) of the purchase worked perfectly.

Looking forward to it's continued evolution.

It's a shame it conflicts with Outpost. I would have given it a try. Maybe later :)

    Thanks for the post firzen.
Was wondering the same thing myself.
This thread and their forums have both been very quiet lately.

    Hello Everyone,

Quick update: We are still in conversation with Microsoft regarding some Windows Security Center issues, hence the delay. We have taken this opportunity to work towards reducing the footprint for the local signature database. This has significantly increased in size since the last build, especially since we injected over half a million new signatures around a week ago.

We don’t have a stable beta build just yet but I’m hoping to provide the opportunity to beta test before we officially release.

    Kind Regards,

    Katie

    Licensing Problems

    Hi there

I have serious licensing problems and have tried to email the support team but have had no reply yet. I purchased a copy of Drive sentry Go Anywhere. I have been really impressed with the program but came across a problem when
I formatted the drive and tried to re-install the software.

It asked me to create a new user account and I do not appear to be able to log onto my registered account. I checked the information on the support forum 'http://forum.drivesentry.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=231' and downloaded the latest version 2.1.045. When I install I get the option to create a new user but at no point do I get the chance to log in to an existing user and can no longer use the software.

    Can you help please?

    Kind Regards

    Ben Hillo_O

    Hi Katie,

i just heard about DriveSentry and looked like a very good HIPS program. I have a quick question for you. I am using Norton 360, Comodo Firewall and MalwareBytes' on my computer. I would like to try DriveSentry and I was just wondering if I could download DriveSentry on my PC without uninstalling Norton or I have to uninstall Norton 360 in order to download DriveSentry?

    Please let me know.
    Thanks.

Katie, I edited my registry so that DS would sniff out my XP Pro (no service packs) as though it were XP SP3, and DS told me that I needed at least Win 2000 SP4. Will try again and let you know. :D

I am trying to download DriveSentry on my PC but Comodo Firewall detected some type of Malware behavior in Drivesentry's Temp file. Here is what it says----

Defense+malware analysis has detected possible malware behavior in C:\Users\xxxxxxx\AppData\Local\Temp\DriveSentry3.1.2.32-0408.exe. However if you are not sure whether or not DriveSentry is a virus, please submit it to COMODO for analysis.

After this warning, i wonder if DriveSentry is really a safe security program or just a malware. How much can we trust the program??

    Should we download it??

Katie, expecting some kind of answer from you....

wow first of all, comodo D+ alone does NOT have any AV in it (unless your running the entire suite with AV, in that case D+ wouldnt have even alerted just AV would have if it was actual malware) and no drivesentry is no a virus its trustworthy. I dunno how long uve been using D+, but it popups virus alerts to LOTS of things, it is a classical HIPS u know, thats what they do.

I've just checked the support email account for you and we can’t find your email? Please send it a again to support@dirvesentry.com and we will get you up and running ASAP.

We don’t recommend running another AV program alongside DriveSentry.

DriveSentry is a digitally assigned program? However, we will appear in Windows Security Center in the next release. I hope you trust us then ;)

    Thanks

if u disable the real-time AV scanning in drivesentry wouldnt it work fine with another AV, that is what i did in the past and never experienced any issues.

I wonder why DS warns on some Windows processes o_O. Generic Hosts Processes for Win32... Windows Help, and af few others. Bad things will happen, if users blocks these  .

    I am NOT infected :D

    Well, Kate ..

I'd have bet money the update we've been expecting would have been released before now. Nah. Good thing I didn't bet.

So, was DriveSentry just a quick pan-flash .. or, are you folks still kicking and creating there?
