I took part in the "Christmas Fever" promotion round 2 by Acronis.
    http://www.acronis.com/promo/fever

I suddenly saw today that the site is offline, but I didn't get any intimation if the $25 limit had been hit ( since there is still time till the deadline of Jan 15 ).

Can any one tell what happened ? And where I can now buy as part of the promotion ?

    Thanks :thumb:

It actually went down to 24,60$ - then they took it offline.
    No mail received yet.

I hadn't seen anyone on the forum mention this "Christmas Fever" promotion before.

I had better luck. I contacted Support ( via Chat ) and after a long haul. Their sales division, sent out a mail with link to buy at $28.65.

Not a very smooth and warm experience. And its not the advertised $25.00 rate either. But anyways I bought it.

So did they say if the mails where being sent out anyway or are they hoping that people will just forget about the whole thing?
    Quite alarming...

Good for you vijayind although you're right I last seen it around 24.64 which should put it at 25.00.

I posted what they told me in Chat.

Made we wonder if this was a spam collection, they better not even send me 1 fricking email if they don't honor their promotion.

Google Cached but it was early on

I bought it for $28 :( ... But still, I am not grumbling about the $4.
This whole promo left a bad taste in my mouth. I think Acronis could have handled it better and given more clarity to the users.

Why, it said after you entered your email address that you would be notified on 1/15 with the price and the option to purchase. Then they notified us a day in advance. I'm happy :)

Regarding the email, they may be sending them out in batches and be sure to check your SPAM filter.

I got the mail. But when I contacted support as to what was the status and situation yesterday, the response was not IDEAL. That is why I personally, think they could have handled it better.

    @coppertrail

    Read carefully:
It says that the mail should have been sent when the price hit 25$. That did not happen and they simply took the site offline, that's why some of us were worried.

Like many of you, I checked it on daily basis then it went offline. I contacted Acronis Customer support and they gave it to me for $28 bucks. A day later I got the "Fever" email saying that I could get it for $25. Looks like Sales and Marketing screwed up. Merry Christmas.

Anyways, I downloaded TIH 2009 on my Dell Vista Home Premium 64 bit system and had problems from the get-go. 5 hours of chat line support, downloading files and builds and trying workarounds and then getting a chat line tech who suspected that my Vista was the problem (Wrong!). It's unacceptable that a home user has to Stop and Start Services on the Command Prompt just to Restore and Backup files.

I finally packed it in and asked for a refund. Now I'm going through the endless cycle of impersonal emails from Acronis with no refund in sight.

I'm dismayed that TIH 2009 is so buggy considering that I've used TI 10 and 11 with no problems. I'm walking away from TIH 2009 until they get it stable.

TIH 2009. Close, but no cigar.

No problems here with the trial and Vista 86/XP

Day later and nothing, do I try chat again I wonder? Surprised I don't see more postings around the net about this

I am planning to shift my desktop to Vista 64 soon ( from Vista 32), thanks for the heads up, jmanson. Hope Acronis gets the cleanup quick.

I too got th $28 deal and then the mail .... It looks like Acronis has outsourced or contracted a 3rd party for the support. Which is the reason why there seems to be no co-ordination at all !! Maybe also the reason why you can't seem to get your refund in a jiffy.

I sent them a request for a refund. So far, I've received 15 emails from Acronis Customer Support- all with different case numbers- informing me that they received my request and will proceed. I'm going to have to tell them to stop flooding my Inbox with redundant emails.

Yes, I agree with other posters, Acronis contracted out their Customer Support to a very inept 3rd party service. I may have to contact my charge card issuer and cancel the transaction since it seems that Customer Support is having a very difficult time trying to do that.

The best kind of software is one that works and makes Tech Support unnecessary. ATIH 2009 isn't even close to being problem-free.

    Bye, bye ATIH 2009.

How did you contact them through that chat or email?
I am looking at a Vista 64 new PC myself but not right away. Perhaps they can clean it up soon before I switch cause its a good backup program
