I have an Oracle machine that create dump files of over 10GB each
we found the server very very slow over the weekend with ekrn.exe holding 99% of cpu and everything else kind of frozen
when we killed the process everything else started responding
is there any known issue with large files and\or solution to this other then excluding the file?

Those files shouldn't be scanned. Could you send first 1-2 MB from those files to customer care?

what do you mean by first 1-2MB?
it is 1 file (Oracle dump), not a collection of files

I mean 1-2 MB from the begining of the file in question.

Have they got a particular extension/folder you could just exclude from scans?

Not a good idea, file extensions are not an indication of safety. A log file is just as harmful as an exe file. It's the contents that matter.
