    Hi:)

I was just wondering if anyone here has a special interest in data overwriting patterns or has any inside knowledge of overwriting standards ?

I am trying to compile a list of standards and exactly what they mean, as in the methods used. They will then be used in Eraser V6 and in the V6 documentation.

If you are able to help V6 please could you write your list and post it here using the following example as a guide to presentation.

    For example.

    Russian GOST P50739-95 (2 passes)
GOST P50739-95 wiping scheme employs a single pass of zero’s followed by a single pass of pseudorandom random bytes.

Before anyone posts claiming that these patterns are useless and a single overwrite pass is enough on modern drives.........I know already !! This is just to enable Eraser V6 to meet more standards and to help create a more informative Eraser V6 documentation pack.

If you have ever used Eraser in the past please consider giving up a little of your free time to give a little back to the project by helping with this list.

    Thanks.;)

Actually it didn't took too much time to find that list, but it was a little bit harder than I thought it would be.
Maybe later when I'm back at home I could try find more patterns, my friends say I have a gift for finding stuff on the Internet.
