what Anti-Virus software gets your vote?

I am using Avira Antivir Free, because according to many sites/people it's good.

DR WEB

 

Kasperky Internet security as its free if you bank with Barclays Bank. Also love the quick additions to virus samples and the fact you always get a reply from there support team.

Avast with Prevx Edge on the laptop as Kasperky is a bit heavy for the lap top.

Nod, heuristics & few false positives keep me coming back, I run it with SAS...& sometimes with Online Armour...

 

Twister! Because it's decent enough, very light and has lifetime license.

 

Avira Premium. Runs very light along with DefenseWall.

 

NIS2009 with SpybotS&D, MBAM, UAC and Sandboxie.

 

Avira Premium - light, fast, competatively priced and excellent detection. If your system is clean it is as good a signature/heuristic solution as you will get to help keep it that way. Of course AV alone wont cut it no matter how good it is. Add in sandboxie, MD, Returnil or the likes and your good to go!

 

ZoneAlarm Antivirus - uses Kaspersky's SDK

F-Secure, protect 3 computers for 10 bucks and it is still the lighest damn AV on my computer, and now 2 laptops.

 

Absolutely avast! I have been running avast!4 Home Edition for a year and a half and it's an exceptional program. I haven't experienced very many false positives and I like the different shields and spyware and rootkit detection features. The support forum is excellent. I hear some people complain about the GUI but I don't care if it's pretty or not. It's always at or near the top of detection tests and knowledgeable folks say it has good removal abilities. It has stopped a number of trojans on infected sites and has flagged a few inbound emails that were bringing trouble. I value this software highly.

And who is this dude, oh yeah, the same dude who did not even know what HIPS were until he tried Defensewall. Lol.

If he had just set System Control to automatic, he would not have seen the pop ups. Duh? Sorry, but he has no validity with me.

 

What I find very surprising is that on a forum dedicated to NOD is that it isn't further ahead of the rest

Looks like avast! does everything I want it to do, as one component of my security arsenal. I think he said you couldn't beat it as a free app and it left some adware behind, some BHO's. I've got plenty of other apps that will help me out there. Thanks for the link.

ANyone can do any video from any AV sofrware and show something similar... It has no validity.
