I have had two computers become unusable with recent computer updates, one I have followed back to ESET Smart Security Suite. Are there any known issues with Microsoft Update?

The driver for the ESET network protocol stack failed with ESET Smart Security Suite. The computer continued restarting until I ignored the system reboot error and received the error: DRIVER_UNLOADED_WITHOUT_CANCELING_PENDING_OPERATIONS, epfwndhk.sys failed. I cannot install ESET Smart Security on the pc as it again crashes.

On the second pc, the ESET Antivirus is installed. After updates, the network connections Control Panel snapin doesn't show any connections, Internet Explorer opens long enough to see the window pop up and disappears, and finally the Windows installer service cannot be started. I believe that this problem is also associated with ESET, but I have not found the prevailing problem.

    Any help would be appreciated.

This is a problem with Windows XP. I have seen this problem on 2 out of 5 computers.
