Ok I'm running mamutu for $8.00 first year deal. plus a-squared full deal plus prevex edge the new one out.Went to some bad surfing and prevex edge sounded off before any of the others.Tf I never used it so can't say about that, but I did see a big difference between the other 3. Prevex edge took the show.mamutu and a-squared did sound off but not as fast.

I agree 4.x has been a buggy, but I run both TF and Mamutu on different systems.
Mamutu 's community look up mostly turns up blank. TF on the other hand has never given me trouble to me.
By the way doesn't TF quarantine only when its a recognized malware ?? For everything else its a prompt.

I'm not sure, but even so then if it has another one of it's awesome FP and my system file is quarantined, then there a big problem

What settings do you use, I use it on default settings. Never had problems for years....

On higher sensitivity settings, TF could be over-zealous.

ThreatFire added significantly to boot and load time on my P4.

As i use 'em both (not in the same pc of course), this is my small comparison:

+ Threatfire: Free:thumb: , Custom Rules (can act like a paranoid screaming HIPS :D ), Outbound traffic control
    - Threatfire: Too slow, questionable internet traffic (i have all firewalled/disabled except tfun.exe if i remenber correctly)

+ Mamutu: Fast (both the OS & the program)
    - Mamutu: Paid, No custom rules, Too silent for me in paranoid mode :D

I like them both but waiting for TF to ramp up it's programming code better, still it works with no ills effects.
Mamutu works like a charm but i too desire Custom Rules if they ever decide to incorporate them.

Activare PARANOID MODE and see how quiet it is then. LoL

    HI,

I was on the first to embrace Mamuto, when the whole community was in favour of ThreatFire. Mamuto is fast and light on resources. At the moment the emotion seems to be leaning against TF, but ThreatFire's intelligence is equalled by none.

Mumuto is the one with lowest latency lag, but this is also a clue on how intelligent TF deals with issues. When running a multicore core I would advice TF, when on an single core I would advice Mamuto. Mamuto is also the one with the least issues on different configurations.

At the moment running Maware defender with ThreatFire as shown in this post TF is also light on resources on an E5200 pumped up to 3,13 Ghz https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=1367611&postcount=3681

    Cheers

You're being light as TF:) on OC-ing the E5200, I'm molesting one @3.3 (11*300), it should also go on air without probs @3.45 with just a bit of extra V..
On the other machine with 2.4 GHz single core processor TF is running fine in conjunction with couple other "real-time defenders", no slowdowns worth mentioning, but I guess that proc is not of the slower ones even by todays standards and is coupled with 1.5GB of RAM...
I plan to try it on ancient PIII <1GHz, but have a feeling it'll prove as a pure overkill for that one.

Yes I tried Mamutu in paranoid mode but the "suspicious file layout" alert is the only one I've been experiencing more frequently and it is just a stupid alert.
