Well, I would never have thought this would have happened, but I am now very distgusted with DRWEB. It hosed my computer completely. I can't uninstall the old version and I can't install the new version. Every time I try to install I get a lame error message that states "error 1304. Error writing to file c:\program files\Drweb\Spidergate.exe. Verify you have access to that directory." Is anybody out there familiar with this error message. This is really upsetting me. Thanks. Anlother disappointing thing I found out about the new DRWEB is that it stinking digs its hooks so damn deep into your OS it's impossible to uninstall. It is ten times worst that Norton to uninstall. This is one very disappointing day for me.

Barney, you using vista or XP?

Just go to start, accessories, system tools, and then system restore.

Select the install point before you installed the AV. :thumb:

Well, I finally got it to install....after re-imaging of course. Anyway, I don't use "system restore". I never had to until today...oh well. The whole concept of the new Drweb is cool, but it is just too slow. I think it is the spidergate that is slowing it down. Version 5 of just the AV works fine, it is all this new stuff that is killing my system. It may just have to come out. Damn I hope the speed improves. I waited 4 years for this?!!!!

The old trusty, and sometimes not so trusty, system restore. :)

I have had success installing dr web, but I did on one instance, have big problems where it didn't install properly, and couldn't uninstall. Must be a conflict, maybe with a previous AV used or something?

CureIt is a stand alone program that doesn't need to install for it to run. It can even be run off a portable device and doesn't conflict with your other AV.

    No need to be worried.

CureIt has been my "go to" app as of late when pc's are infected w/ rooters and TDSServ trojans that block all other popular tools even after you rename them. :thumb: Typically after running CureIt and rebooting back to safe mode your tools will run just fine.
