TB for personal correspondence, Yahoo as a spam catcher. You know, those times that a site wants a e mail address but you do not like or have not taken the time to read their privacy policy.
I went from Outlook2003 to Thunderbird and then Outlook2007 Overall winner (IMHO): Outlook2003 - easy to use, many features, relatively fast and not much trouble Fastest: Thunderbird Worst: Outlook2007 If only I could keep outlook 2003 and use Office 2007 Outlook2007 takes forever to retrieve new mail and looses connection or warns about incorrect password (altough it's automatic) at least 5 times a day. Using GMail with IMAP, btw...
I know a custom install of Office 03 is possible. I always exclude Outlook. Is`t the same possible for Office 07? Exclude Outlook 07 and leave 03 installed? Just a thought.
Yeah I thought of that earlier today... It should be simple... Will do it this weekend, along with my twice a year routine fresh install
Outlook is the best, hands down.... nothing else is even close IMO. Been using it for almost a decade now. And I've tried them all....
The most configurable Mail-Client is without a doubt 'TheBat!' A must for power mailer who need huge filter and Regex possibilities.
What I am running right now: Windows PC Outlook 2007 Thunderbird 2 Thunderbird 3 (beta) Ubuntu Linux PC Thunderbird 2 Windows Mobile PocketPC FlexMail 4
Let's say that mail that is important is either downloaded or copied as normal files in specific folders (not that many in my case). Believe it or not I'm a fan boy of Google, and I trust them in keeping my mail safe... I like the fact I can access gmail from any computer, and they also advise me when virus infected mails are found, not to mention their fantastic spam filter... All for free.
Eek! Google "incredimail adware". Working in IT as an SMB consultant...whenever I've stumbled across a clients PC that had that hideous thing installed....the system was rife with malware.
I don't see what the problem is... I downloaded Incredimail on a whim to send Holiday emails and have run both SAS and MBAM without any detections. No slow downs...
Here i was thinking it was a linux only app. I never considered checking if it had a windows version. Thanks!
As a webmaster, I use PopPeeper for my 36 email accounts. PopPeeper handles high volume splendidly, & is the safest email client I have ever found for protection against spam and mail-malware
