I don't expect them to last long, the quality/update of their software is lacking. My two cents.

I had it running on my Vista machine for 2 months and it wasn't SafeSpace (*sigh* I miss SafeSpace)

It is still alive but as I said in another post,That 2.72 was where I left off at and do not see further development and the feeling of it heading where safe space is at.I Hope I am wrong and they shock us wilders members with a complete new makeover but I think not though.:(

GW is much better n smoother than SafeSpace although safe space was also nice.

Why will it fade out? What needs fixing in the current version? Is it dead because the developer doesnt hang out here all day. No. I emailed him last week and he responded very quickly. Geswall is alive and well. It is a product that does not need daily massaging from the vendor. But it isnt going away, that I know.

    Hi TRJAM

Hopefully not too off topic, but I notice in your signature that you are running Sandboxie & Geswall together? I thought these two did not Co-exist very well?

Could you clarify for me please?

    Thanks

    Terry

Hi Terry, my sig is just products I like and use. I have 3 computers and each has its on setup. And on one I use FD-ISR with a few snapshots of even more combos. But the 2 I like the most are Returnil and Sandboxie and then Geswall with A-Squared free.

my thoughts exactly trjam. geswall, defensewall and sandboxie aren't like antivirus programs that need frequent updates. unless there is a serious flaw discovered or glitch, the above mentioned programs are just fine and dandy without any touch ups from the developers.

    Guys,

Do not forget that GeSWall has its Smart Application Wizzard, so when you understand how that works and keep on 32 bits Winows OS, you could use it for ages. WHen considering buying such an application DefenseWall and Sandboxie are better choices at the moment with a reliable track record of product improvements (althoug Ilya is tearing his hear out due to the skin remake delay done by a free lance programmer)

    Regards K

GesWall is good, but still has some issues need to be fixed.

I tried Geswall out but went back to using defensewall. I am using an older version and don't seem to be having as many crashes with it.

I used GESWall free for almost a year and the only glitch I ever encountered was the 'license' expiration for the free version. It was apparently fixed pretty quick, though.

All in all, a good part of a layered security solution:thumb:

Please note that the 'license' for the present free version expires to-morrow 12.12.2008 so we shall probably have a few people panicking again until the re-dated version goes up for download.:D

I tried out Geswall free but I didn't like that is was crippled in the sense that I couldn't make any real configuration changes. I know that this isn't the case with the paid version which I imagine to be pretty good.

And what a relief that is! I see some security program releases wherein developers are touting the latest and greatest improvements, and I can't help wondering what's already wrong with the new version that will have to be "enhanced, resolved, reduced and added" in the next release in another week or two! :)
