    I'm confused.

For $5.00 do I get A Squared and Updates for 1 full Year?

License period begins with purchase date. What does this mean?

But after remembering your 'actions', surely you won't get warnings anymore?

Got one set of warnings (that required no action) that FF was performing similar actions to malware. Then all was quiet.

I do currently only have the IDS and some of the webguard parts active. Am letting my AV deal with the on execute stuff at the moment.

Its a one time alert with Firefox. Once you OK it thats it. If you set Mamutu with community based settings it will allow Firefox pretty much automatically..thats why its called a behavior blocker...

So disabling the anti-spyware, and keeping the behaviour blocker on, does it lower the resource usage by much?

For those that just want mamutu, as mentioned earlier in the thread, it's listed here for around $9, or 70 per cent off:

I got it free when it was on Give Away of the Day 8/3/09. Since I have Avira, SASPro ($20 lifetime) and Malwarebytes on demand, I don't run it very often, but figure it's good to have if I ever become infected. It's a slick program, great GUI etc.

Are there any test showing Mamutus effectiveness?

I compare a software license to a guarantee. It's starts on purchase, not when you decide to use it for the 1st time.

It may not exist for online purchases, but it is the norm when you buy boxed software. Obviously, in this case the license doesn't become active until you activate the product. You can save a license for as long as you want.

    this forum is biased!
so, they do a lifetime licence?

Because I have countless security products, that I may activate whenever I want to (they are not lifetime licences)

By default, the license period starts with purchase date when you buy a regular a-squared Anti-Malware license. But you can request to convert the license into a coupon code, e.g. if you want to use the software as a gift or use it later.

But with this special $5 promo, converting to a coupon is not possible, sorry. Imagine thousands of users who buy with the huge discount and resell the licenses over months/years. That would ruin the company.

It's a birthday offer, and birthday ends (afer 5 days in our case). ;)

    Hi All,

Got my problem sorted out. There was no problem in the first place :)

    1) A-Squared will NOT check files/malware when ran in Sanboxie (Which is why I thought it was not working)

    2) A-Suared does NOT detect the EICAR test file due to it being to old and dos format

    3) A-Squared DOES check files on excution when ran in Windows normal enviroment and can be safety run alongside other AV software as well (In my expereince the IKURUS scan engine is Superb)

    Cheers

    Jlo

It's only $5, can't get better than that.

    Payment, done! :)

If you find there's no need for it in your setup, you'll surely have a friend/family member that would greatly benefit from it. Give them a malware-free pc for christmas!
